One question that constantly comes out of the mouth of Post Tribbers is Matt. 24:30 and it’s relation to verse 29 before it, insinuating the rapture is the gathering spoken of and happens after the tribulation. My explanation usually deals with the fact that Jesus, here speaking to Jews is also prophesying the fate of the Jews living through the tribulation (context). Regarding the Understanding the Olivet Parables Part 2 I have a question: Under the 10 virgins – you used a phrase “let their faith lapse” Did you mean they had once had faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior? And, I guess I was wrong in thinking the after the Rapture the Holy Spirit would be withdrawn? If time permits would appreciate your clarification.

Question: Are you saying that the purpose/audience of the OT is Israel and the purpose/audience of the NT is for the Church?

Also, Jesus spoke in the Olivet Discourse about the coming destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem which was for Daniel’s people and his holy city, so not sure why it would follow that he wouldn’t also speak about the 70th week? The argument doesn’t seem to follow. What am I missing?

Within the Olivet Discourse from Matthew 24:32-36, verse 35 states that “Heaven and earth will pass away…” I’m a bit confused in that the consensus seems to be that the earth and Heaven will remain into eternity. Is this wrong?

Great site you have. I have a question? Where in the bible does it refer to Israel and the generation which sees it become a state again being the generation to see the end times. In Matthew (Olivet Disclosure) I don’t see a connection with Israel becoming a nation again.

My question has to deal with the “elect” in the Olivet Discourse. Jesus was indeed talking to a Jewish crowd (his disciples). However, they were also His followers. I’ve taken Matthew 24 to mean that He’s referring mostly to the persecution of the Jews in His teaching. However, Luke 21:12, Jesus says, “…You will be brought before kings and ruler’s for my name’s sake.” Jews obviously don’t recognize “His name” as a deity, so clearly Jesus is referring to Christ-followers at this point. Historically, both Jews and Christians have been brought before kings and rulers, and been persecuted. So, I guess my question is, “Is Jesus talking to Jews, Christians, or both?” Also, do you believe the elect gathered from the 4 winds are Jews, or all of the Christians?

If you’ve been visiting this site for any length of time at all you know I believe that once we’re saved we’re saved forever. I base this belief on a number of verses that say so in no uncertain terms.

After the Second Coming, I understand that the Saved from the Church Age will live in the New Jerusalem while the Tribulation Saints live on earth — Jews in the Kingdom and Gentiles in the Nations. But what will happen to the unbelievers who manage to survive the Tribulation? Unbelieving Jews? Unbelieving Gentiles? Of those two populations, who will live where?

To whom is Jesus speaking in the following passage? WHO will be handed over, etc.?

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matt. 24:6-14)
