The Lord’s Life In Time

Published: April 18, 2017
Q

I enjoy your website and appreciate the time you put into it.

My interest was piqued earlier this week to look deeper into our Lord’s birth and Crucifixion. From what I can tell, based upon Matt 2, Jesus was born in 6/5 BC based upon Herod’s death in 4 BC. Is this your understanding? Luke 3:23 tells us that Jesus was around 30 when He began His ministry. If Jesus was baptized in 29 AD, then Jesus would have been around 34. How do you reconcile Luke with Matt? Does around 30 include the possibility that He was 34 or so?

Don’t Call It Tithing

Published: April 18, 2017
Q

I had just started reading your article on “tithing” and guess what? Having been taught that way, you have accepted it as Gospel and have not studied any further !

Malachi 1 vs 1 states “The burden of the word of the Lord to ISRAEL by Malachi” notice it was not to the Gentile church who incidentally only became part of the Covenant during Acts 10.

PLEASE read Deuteronomy 14 vs 22 to 29 regarding the tithing laws as given to Israel by GOD through Moses. Nowhere and I mean nowhere do the scriptures say anybody has to give 10% of their finances to God. The ‘tithe’ was grain, new wine, oil , firstlings of your herds and flocks. I have heard that ” we are not all farmers today so our salaries have replaced the grain etc” . Do these people not realise that Almighty God would have known that and would have made provision for that? The ONLY purpose of the tithe was to feed the Levites , the stranger, the fatherless and the widows within your gates after YOU have eaten to show that you fear the Lord. GOD DOES NOT NEED YOUR GOODS !

The Levitical priesthood has ended (for now) and so there is no one mandated by God to receive ‘tithes’.

By all means give and give liberally but do it with cheerfulness and don’t call it ‘tithing’ which was an old covenant law. If you accept any ‘law’ now you are not under Grace and you will be judged by the law!

Persecution In The West?

Q

We Christians in the US have had life on easy street. How much do you think that will change before the rapture?

The Lilith Myth

Where did the whole Lilith myth originate? Could you elaborate on this?

Wine Or Juice?

Published: April 17, 2017
Q

Some Christians believe it is a sin to drink wine, and that whenever the Bible refers to wine, it really meant grape juice. I always thought that new wine was juice, and “wine” meant just that. We know that Jesus turned water into wine, and Col. 2:16 tells us not to let another judge us in food or drink. Can you please clarify this?

Judged For Our Works?

Q

Could you please explain what this verse means?

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what He has done, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)

For The Joy Set Before Him

Q

When I hear the description of the actual physical beatings, pain, etc. of Jesus it upsets me so much I try not to listen and I am crying over it. Is this wrong of me, should I continue to listen?

The Resurrection Of Matt. 27

Published: April 7, 2017
Q

Your Bible teaching has been a real blessing to me.

Perhaps you have answered this question already but I can’t find it in your website. Could you comment on the many bodies of the saints who were raised when Christ was raised from the dead? Was it only a select few or were all the saved OT saints raised? Did these people die again? What is the significance of this passage?

Rapture Timing And Daniel 7?

Published: April 6, 2017
Q

First, I must thank you for your various works, especially your “The Bible thru the eyes of its writers”. It’s really helped me understand the books of Revelation and Job.

Here’s my question: recently, I read that God’s “throne room” scene referenced in Revelation 5 is depicted in Daniel 7: 7-11. I looked it up and saw that the “little horn” is mentioned in verse 8, but the throne room scene begins in verse 9. Does this mean that only after the Antichrist is revealed that the seal opening begins? Does this interfere with the timing of the rapture? Or are these verses not sequential? What do you think?

God’s Plan Or Husband’s Will?

Published: April 6, 2017
Q

I recently had a “vision” from God. I have had these in the past and they are very profound and always accurate. I feel I know myself enough to know when it’s truly from God. In my vision, God told me I would give birth to another child, a girl. This is after not having any children for 3 years now. We had agreed that our last child would be our last, but then I had the vision. In my heart, I feel God wants us to have another child. I was not seeking it, nor necessarily wanting another. I believe (my husband’s) reasons for not wanting another one are based on worries about finances and the fact that we have “out-grown” our home. I tell him that these things don’t truly matter, that God will provide for all our needs.

My question is, what would you do in this situation or how do you think it should be handled? Should one ignore God’s plan in order to make their husband happy? Should I just “blow off” this vision and pretend it never occurred? Or do you believe God will work a miracle if He truly wants me to have another child and that I will conceive in some way or another?? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
