Span Of Time Between Resurrection And Rapture
Published: February 28, 2017Thank you for your blessed words, I read your comments daily and have a question concerning the coming rapture. I was always confused about the statement that, we would not all sleep, but the dead in Christ would rise first, then we who are alive would follow. I always felt that these two events do not happen in the twinkling of an eye together but rather there is a space of time between the two events. Then I was reading a site where the writer was basically saying that the dead in Christ that rise first will be a warning to those of us alive that the rapture is imminent and will be like the dead that rose from the graves during the death/ resurrection of Christ and were seen in the streets of Jerusalem What is your take of this view?
The Curse Of Eve, Follow Up
Published: February 28, 2017I just read your article about the Curse of Eve with great delight. When I was pregnant last year I found some books written by midwives about how to give birth naturally. I discovered, despite what our culture teaches us, that giving birth should not be a traumatic, horrifying, drug-filled event, but a beautiful and natural event; and that the female body is perfectly equipped to do it. I was raised a Christian, and I’m devoted to the Lord, so I was confused about how my new discoveries fit with what I thought the Bible teaches about women being cursed in childbirth. It all makes sense now, and I can follow the paths of natural childbirth without any twinge of confusion or guilt about not being in God’s plan.
I had a question to follow up and clarify your article. For some reason I always assumed that the curses on Adam and Eve applied to all of mankind, though we who are in Christ are no longer bound to the curse. However, are you saying that the curse of Eve applied only to her, and was not passed down to all women after her? Do you think Adam’s curse applied only to him and not to all men? i.e. does the ground produce plants normally now, but for Adam it did not? The curse on the serpent seems to have affected all snakes afterward, since I haven’t seen any snakes with legs recently. What should we learn from these curses? How much of it applies to us?
When Was Job Written?
Published: February 27, 2017Again, thank you for a great web site. You help all of us better understand The Word of God. In my spiritual travels I’ve often read that Job may well be one of the oldest books in the Bible and could have been written before the Great Flood. In reading Job 37 this morning I can plainly see that it could not have been written before the Flood, because Elihu talks about rain. I thought it never rained before the flood. What are your thoughts?
Jesus In The Temple?
Published: February 27, 2017Have just read your article ‘The End Times According To Ezekiel, Part 5‘ and this one contained something that made me wonder. In it you said;
“The Lord had to go back to His place in Heaven, the people had to go into captivity, the Temple and City had to be destroyed by fire, and the land itself had to lie fallow for 70 years. And although it’s often overlooked, even though the Lord made good on His promise to restore the people, the City, the Temple, and the Land, He Himself never returned. Even when Jesus came to visit, He stood and taught on the Temple Mount, but He never entered it.”
I went to the eSword Bible and found quite a few that said He taught in the Temple, departed from the Temple, etc… Can you explain what you mean by this, and I’ll bet I’m not the only one left wondering. Did I misunderstand what it was you were trying to convey?
Who Was Paul Talking About?
Published: February 27, 2017I came across Titus 1:15-16, and I can’t help but wonder … was Paul referring to unsaved people, or was he referring to “legalistic” Christians … today’s Pharisees, if you will?
How Did Job Know?
Published: February 24, 2017In my study of the book of Job, I was confused when he purified his children and made burnt offerings for them. As there was some doubt whether or not Job was a Jew because of where he lived (in the land of Edom), how did he know about burnt offerings? In fact, how did Cain and Abel Know about offerings? I did read in Genesis 8:20 that Noah made burnt offerings. Do you think that he received a revelation about it? I enjoy your web sight and you have become my “go to” when I need help, after the Holy Spirit of course.
Receiving Forgiveness
Published: February 24, 2017Where does the Bible teach that we receive forgiveness of sin when we repent?
Are All Seven Years Consecutive?
Published: February 24, 2017We know that the Great Tribulation will last 1,260 days. But, regarding the first 42 months — do we know that those times, those days and months, are necessarily consecutive? That is, is it possible that there will be breaks in the progression of prophetic fulfillment to allow for the logistical problems of “everything coming together at the same time”?
Could there be, say, two or three months of fulfillment, followed by an interim for “stray parts” to fit together and catch up, followed by another period of fulfillment, and another “break,” to make the first 42 months of the Tribulation be strung out over a period of, say, 50 or 60 or 100 months of actual elapsed calendar time?
Two Questions About Moses And Aaron
Published: February 23, 2017It is so wonderful to be able to ask a bible scholar those questions that no one I know is able to answer. Thank you for the time you take to respond so thoroughly to everyone’s questions.
I have two questions. Why did God have the Israelites that worshiped the golden calf killed, but do nothing to Aaron who fashioned the calf? In fact, he later made him a priest.
The other question is, why was God so angry with Moses and Aaron over the water miracle in the desert, that they were not allowed to enter the promised land?
The Puzzle Of The 12 Tribes
Published: February 23, 2017My wife and I have been going over the tribes of Israel and we noticed something and can not explain it. There is no tribe of Joseph. Ephraim and Manasseh are Josephs sons and Levi of course is the priests there for I guess they don’t count as a tribe. Another oddity which seems to not get much play is Joseph’s sons are from the Egyptian Pharaoh’s Daughter which by the standards of Hebrew tradition means they are not Jews. How-ever when they are brought to Jacob before he dies he lays his hands on them and adopts and blesses them, so technically they became their father’s brothers. Any thoughts?
