Is It Sin Or Not?

Published: September 28, 2016
Q

I understand that when we get to Heaven our works on Earth will be judged according to our motives for doing them. But Jesus said to store up treasures in Heaven instead of here on Earth, and Paul said we can earn rewards in Heaven, including the receipt of Crowns. My question is: Does striving to receive rewards in Heaven for our deeds on Earth, even in part, constitute a sin? Deep down how can we not have a selfish motive in doing His work when we have these kinds of rewards in mind?

The Number

Published: September 21, 2016
Q

I notice that you stand with those who believe that the rapture does not have a set date, but instead a set number of believers who must be completed in order for it to take place. I was wondering if there were any clues given as to that number. I only remember reading “a multitude that could not be numbered” for the saints that stand behind the Lord at the final white throne judgment. Thank you for your insight and praise God there are those like you who encourage steadfast Christians to think.

OSAS And Matt 8:10-12

Q

Re: Matt. 8:10-12. I believe in OSAS but as I read this passage I wonder if my belief is misplaced. Here we have the Sons of the Kingdom! But they are being cast out? Why are they being cast out? What did they do to cause them to be cast out? This verse says, they are in the kingdom of Heaven!!! This bothers me. I must be missing something, It just doesn’t sound like you’re always saved. Please explain and pray for me.

The Kingdom Of God. Follow Up

Published: September 21, 2016
Q

I was reading your answer to the question about the Kingdom of God saying the kingdom would never be destroyed or given to another etc. I thought that after one thousand years the earthly kingdom would be delivered up to God by Christ and the earth would be burnt up and everything made new for eternity etc ?

Elijah, Jew Or Gentile?

Published: September 21, 2016
Q

Each time that I visit your site, I am blessed! Recently, I heard a minister on TV say that the prophet Elijah, mentioned in the books of 1st & 2nd Kings, was not Jewish. I had assumed that all of the old testament prophets were Israelites. Your thoughts on this.

Fearfully And Wonderfully Made

Published: September 21, 2016
Q

I love Psalm 139 but there is one word that has always confused me. …. That we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Why fearfully and what does this mean in the context of this Psalm?

Nero As The Anti-Christ

Published: September 21, 2016
Q

On TV I was watching a show about the book of Revelation. The show said that some people think that 666 was in reference to King Nero because a combination of Nero’s name and title adds up to 666 in a certain Hebrew alphabet. And also that during that time that Nero was referred to as “the beast.” Could you explain why this is incorrect and just coincidence?

Was Paul The 13th Apostle?

Published: September 21, 2016
Q

We had a discussion in Bible class this morning concerning the Apostle Matthias. Most of the students (as well as the teacher) think that the decision to chose Matthias to replace Judas was incorrect. The basis for their opinion is that so little is known about him and he is never mentioned again in Scripture. Also, the fact that Paul came after Matthias, which would make Paul the 13th Apostle. What do you think?

Die Or Not Die? Which Is It?

Published: September 21, 2016
Q

In John 11:26 Jesus said “And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die”. But in 1 Thes. 4:16 Paul said at the rapture the dead in Christ will rise first. This seems like a contradiction to me. Do we die or not die?
