OSAS And Ezekiel 18
Published: May 15, 2015 (Originally published: May 15, 2015)My question is, how do you interpret Ezekiel 18:24 in the light of OSAS? I believe fully that the saved person can’t be lost, but wondered about this text. I have been greatly helped by your website, thank you very much.
Have We Misunderstood?
Published: February 6, 2020 (Originally published: February 6, 2011)I have a question regarding the doctrines of eternal security and also the rapture. It seems very clear that these are biblical, but looking at what the early Church believed creates conflict for me. I know that the Bible is the final authority, but if Christians this soon after the cross believed in loss of salvation, works righteousness, etc. could we be wrong in your interpretation of God’s word? What’s also unnerving is just how many people are like that today. Some even say that OSAS and the rapture are only very modern ideas. What is the explanation for this?
Does Israel Model OSAS?
Published: February 27, 2024 (Originally published: February 12, 2013)Would you say that OSAS is modeled in the Old Testament through God’s relationship with the nation of Israel? The covenant that God made with Abraham in Genesis 15:9-21 was a one-sided covenant with God as the only participant demonstrating the “union” side and Israel’s on again off again relationship with God over the years representing the “fellowship” portion. What do you think?
The Parable Of The Sower
Published: June 27, 2024 (Originally published: March 6, 2014)You may have answered this before, but would you explain the parable of the Sower, in relation to OSAS?
OSAS And Falling Away
Published: July 3, 2026 (Originally published: December 27, 2015)I agree with you on the OSAS but my question is on the scripture that states that many will fall away from the faith. What does that exactly mean?
OSAS And 1 Tim. 4:16
Published: June 20, 2016 (Originally published: June 25, 2016)Could you please explain the significance of 1 Tim 4:16, to OSAS? In this verse, it seems Paul is speaking to those in ministry, and it does appear he is saying that they must make certain they keep their own salvation as well as that of those they are teaching by what they are teaching. It would seem from what is being said in previous verses that these leaders are saved, but could be in danger of losing it (salvation) through wrong teaching, as well as their recipients not receiving it. If anyone can give a clear understanding and clarity to this, I believe you can.
More On Being Sure Of OSAS
Published: May 12, 2016 (Originally published: May 15, 2016)Re: ‘Are you sure about OSAS?‘ As Eve was being tempted by Satan into eating the fruit, he was getting her to think about how it was good for food, pleasant to the eyes, would make one wise. She was thinking about all these things BEFORE she ate of it. If she had walked away, or if Adam had stopped her, she would not have eaten of the fruit. And that’s what God had forbidden them: ‘but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat.’ Gen 2:16. It wasn’t forbidden to think about it, but to do it. I accept that Jesus was teaching about changing our hearts when He spoke against even anger. Yet, anger is justifiable many times. Jesus was angry at the Pharisees but He didn’t kill any of them.
OSAS And Luke 8:13
Published: June 28, 2015 (Originally published: June 29, 2015)I have yet another question regarding OSAS. I own a bible that has commentary from a well known preacher. I was reading through the book of Luke. In particular, my question is, what is your interpretation of Luke 8:13. The commentary from this preacher on this particular verse, states basically that this verse refutes the doctrine of unconditional eternal security.
OSAS And Hebrews 10:36
Published: November 26, 2012 (Originally published: November 25, 2012)I’m having some trouble with Hebrews 10:36. We know that the will of God is to believe on His Son, and the promise is eternal life. I believe OSAS, but I’m having trouble reconciling this verse.
OSAS And 2 Peter 3:17
Published: December 2, 2024 (Originally published: November 20, 2009)Just when I think I have finally understood and accepted OSAS, someone comes along and throws me a curve ball and steals my joy. Please help me understand 2 Peter 3:17, as that is the most recent curve ball thrown at me!!!
Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. –2 Peter 3:17
