Boiled In Oil?

Published: February 27, 2016 (Originally published: March 6, 2016)
Q

I was asked this question, then, for some reason, I couldn’t think of a place in the Bible to show proof. Hope you can help me. I was asked if it was true that the Apostle John was boiled in oil? I said that yes he was. Then they asked me where in the Bible it said that. I was sort of stumped. I thought maybe the beginning of Revelation, but, I don’t see it there. Could you let me know if the is a place in the Bible that definitely states that John was boiled in oil, and where it is; or, if it is just one of those facts we know about him, but, it’s not in the Bible.

Angels Are Watching Us

Published: July 22, 2016 (Originally published: July 22, 2016)
Q

I’m sitting here doing homework for a study I’m taking on Revelation. In the booklet, there’s a reference to 1 Peter 1:10-12, concerning our salvation. At the end of verse 12 it says, Even angels long to look into these things. What is Peter talking about in the verses leading up to this verse and what does it mean that even angels long to look into these things?

Rome And Babylon

Published: October 20, 2014 (Originally published: October 18, 2014)
Q

My question centers on Revelation 17:18 where one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls tells John the identity of the harlot who sits on the beast. He tells John that “The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.” At the time of John’s revelation, it is my understanding that the ancient city of Babylon was in ruins or certainly insignificant. The angel is speaking to John in present tense as best as I can determine and the only city that ruled in John’s day was Rome. Add to this the evidence given to John in the earlier portion of chapter 17 indicating that the harlot is sitting on seven heads that are seven mountains. Rome is the city on seven hills (mountains). What is the relationship between Rome and ancient Babylon or am I way off the bench mark?

Who Will Be Fighting Israel After Ezekiel 38?

Published: March 31, 2014 (Originally published: March 30, 2014)
Q

After the battle of Ezekiel 38 with the downfall of Russia, what Moslem nations fall with Russia ? Assuming Damascus has already been destroyed, who do you think are the Power Nations left to battle Israel ? Or as Ezekiel 38 ushers in the 7 year Tribulation period, are there no more major wars until the battle of Armageddon ? Without major wars involving Israel, are the remaining events of the end times only related to God’s judgments of Wrath upon mankind ? Thank you for your site and your wise insight to coming events !

The Mediterranean Union

Published: July 17, 2008 (Originally published: July 17, 2008)
Q

It seems like yesterday that I was writing to you asking about the proposed 10 year peace treaty Jimmy Carter has drawn up yet here I am today ready to bring up a new development that I would really like to hear your thoughts on. I just read an article that says that a meeting will take place on July 13, 2008. The prophetic significance of this meeting? Nothing short of this statement: ‘the Union for the Mediterranean or Mediterranean Union will be geographically identical to the Roman Empire and will be the power base which will give rise to the Antichrist’ Your thoughts on this?

The Four Beasts Of Daniel 7

Published: November 30, 2013 (Originally published: November 29, 2013)
Q

I want to ask you about the beasts in Daniel 7. You identified them as the Babylonian, Media-Persian, Greek, and Roman kingdoms; many Bible scholars interpret them also this way. However, I’ve read another interpretation that they are not those kingdoms, but are others. The argument is based on verse 17: “These four great beasts are four kings who SHALL arise out of the earth” (emphasis mine). Therefore, since this vision was given to Daniel in the time of Babylonian kingdom, the first beast can not be the Babylon (because the word “shall” implies future), and so on. What’s your view on this?

Tribulation And Great Tribulation

Published: May 16, 2007 (Originally published: May 16, 2007)
Q

A Preterist on a discussion board today offered the following verse as evidence that the tribulation had happened in John’s time at Patmos:

I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. (Rev. 1:9)

Now, of course he is incorrect and it is fallacious to base such a world view on one verse, however, what was John referring to when he spoke of ‘the tribulation’ he partook of?

Thank you for your insight.

A Split In The Arab World?

Published: January 27, 2009 (Originally published: January 26, 2009)
Q

I have a question for you. concerning the war predicted In the Prayer of Psalm 83, and the Ezekiel war of 38-39. There is a split in the Arab world right now, on one side you have Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan. On the other you have Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Algeria and Sudan. The Egypt group is on the same side as Israel, but not in support of Israel, (not openly against Israel) The Iran side is anti Israeli. There is a strong rift between these two groups. Not solely because of Israel but other things as well.

My question is: Is this rift between these two groups supported by prophecy, or do you think this present situation is one that needs to be ironed out between these countries for prophecy to move forward?

The Pre-Wrath Rapture

Published: November 18, 2006 (Originally published: November 18, 2006)
Q

1)What do you think about the pre-wrath rapture of the Church? I was pre-trib for such along time until I read the book by Marvin Rosenthal, “The Pre-Wrath Rapture of the Church”. It made so much sense that just cannot see any other way. I would just like to know what you think about it and have you read the book.

2)If the Muslim’s messiah is the the anti-Christ then how does this go with the anti-Christ coming from the Holy Roman Empire?

Confessing After We’ve Been Saved

Published: December 30, 2013 (Originally published: December 29, 2010)
Q

I would like to know the following. I am aware that Jesus Christ died for my sins, once and for all (me and everybody). I believe this means all my sins past, present, and future are forgiven, wiped away, and I am clean. So, when my “sinful nature” sins again, if I can put it that way, do I still have to ask for forgiveness of sins, or do I just admit that I’ve sinned and that I know it is wrong, and then thank Him that He has forgiven me already?
