Today's Bible Q&A

  • The Law Of Redemption

I have been reading your series on a study of Revelation. In your commentary on chapter 5, you state “God’s law requires that a next of kin redeem that which a family member has lost.” Where in scripture is this stated as God’s law? I ask because what you have presented fills many gaps for me. I just want to be able to back that up with scripture since it is the foundation of the point you present.

  • 44 Commandments To Keep?

The Pastor on Sunday was teaching on Discipleship and how we can be better disciples for Christ, He was drawing from (an apparently popular book) I have never read or even heard of. The Pastor said that we needed to Love God with all of our Hearts, Minds and Souls, and that this is a commandment, which I agreed with. He went on to say in order to show God that we loved him we needed to follow and obey all of Jesus’ Commandments in the New Testament and he listed about 44 of them. He then said that if we do not follow these then we don’t love God and we aren’t saved. He even said that our salvation is based on a lot more than a little prayer we said when we accepted Christ.

  • Am I Forgiven Enough?

I believe in God and I consider myself a Christian. Jesus is in my heart and I pray for forgiveness every night. But in my past I’ve done some terrible things. Am I forgiven enough to go in the rapture? If so will my toddler come with me? And if she does, will we be in heaven together with her as my child? I have read that our children won’t be our children and we won’t know them anymore. That makes me very sad, is that true?
