Ezekiel’s Battle Soon?

Published: May 18, 2007
Q

Thank you so much – I read “Ask the Bible Teacher” Daily. I’d just like to follow up on a posting of 5/17 re: “End Times Timing”. At the end of your answer to that question you say: “As for the preparations for Ezekiel’s Battle, I think they’re in their final stages as you read this. That doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen right away, only that just about everybody is ready for it”.

Anyway, I am constantly reading and keeping up to date with all the activity of the Middle East. Iran, Israel, Syria, Russia….is this what you’re referring to in your answer that I quoted above? Do you really think (those countries) are really in the final stages for THE Ezekiel’s battle? Can you tell us more about what is going on over there and how it relates to the Rapture? Is there anything else that needs to take place in order for the battle to happen? I am so excited for the Lords return. COME JESUS COME!!!

Tribulation And Great Tribulation

Published: May 16, 2007
Q

A Preterist on a discussion board today offered the following verse as evidence that the tribulation had happened in John’s time at Patmos:

I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. (Rev. 1:9)

Now, of course he is incorrect and it is fallacious to base such a world view on one verse, however, what was John referring to when he spoke of ‘the tribulation’ he partook of?

Thank you for your insight.

Tribulation Babies, Follow Up

Q

In a question from someone about tribulation babies, you mention human functions would continue through the tribulation for believers who are not perfected as well as non-believers. I thought all believers were perfected and would not be here through the tribulation? Please explain.

Tongues And Hats

Q

Love your site. I read it everyday. I have two questions.

I have witnessed people speaking in tongues while praying and also speaking in tongues, then an interpretation was given. My current pastor says we no longer speak in tongues since Christ’s crucifixion. I guess I can understand with the holy spirit we would no longer speak in ‘prayer tongues’ but is speaking in tongues completely no longer done?

Also, two women in our congregation cover their heads while the message is given. I have read in the bible that a women is to cover her head but is that also now no longer done or should I be covering my head. I have never been convicted of this so really never gave it much thought, plus the pastors wife does not cover her head. Actually, I’ve never been in a church where the women cover their heads. Your input into the two questions will be greatly appreciated.

End Times Timing

Q

According to your article on Ez 38,39 you believe that the Church will be taken away to heaven before the battle. If that is the case, the preparation for the battle would have to take place almost immediately after the rapture; since the church will spend 7 years in heaven before we come back with the Lord. Daniel’s 70 th week needs to happen almost immediately, because the antichrist will make the 7 year peace treaty with the nation of Israel, and according to your study this event precedes the battle of the gogs.

But I always thought the 70th week would start immediately after the rapture, but if there’s need to make time for the war of the gogs then it would mean that we would be more than 7 years in heaven giving time for the battle of the gogs to start and finish and then go into the 70 th week with the 7 year peace treaty.

Are we talking of 7 1/2 or maybe 8 in heaven? How long will the battle of the Gogs last? Does the Bible give a time span of the battles? I never found how long it would last but maybe there’s some clue I never notice. Can you please give me more insight on this topic? Thanks and may God bless.

The Choice Is Clear

Q

I have a question about Elisha in 2 Kings 2. Why did he pronounce a curse on children for mocking him about a physical characteristic, and then why did God honor it? It seems like such a drastic response to have bears attack children for mocking. What would be a lesson we today could learn from the story?

Sodom And Capernaum

Q

In Matthew 11:23 it says And you Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven will you? You will descend to Hades; for if the miracles had occurred in Sodom which occurred in you, it would have remained till this day.

Jesus said this in Matthew and I was wondering. If God knew that if miracles would happen in Sodom that Sodom would remain then why did he not give Sodom a second chance? I believe God is a merciful God and a God of second chances so why did he not give Sodom a second chance?

Are The Deceived Responsible For Their Own Deception?

Published: May 11, 2007
Q

My question is: Are the deceived responsible for their having been deceived? Even the church is constantly warned in the Bible to beware of false prophets and false Christs, but it seems like there are an awful lot of Christians who have fallen for the tricks of cults and false messiahs. Some people might say that these deceived folks “must never have been real believers in the first place to be so misled” but that’s a pretty irresponsible cop-out if you ask me.

I’m a firm believer of the “OSAS” doctrine so I can’t believe these people are losing their salvation by believing the lies they’re fed, but I’m having a bit of trouble justifying that to myself or anyone else who asks.

The Great Earthquake

Published: May 10, 2007
Q

Can you tell me if the great earthquake and the coming back of Christ at the end of the tribulation happens at the same time, because I was wondering if Christ stood on the Mt. of Olives and it split or if it split because of the earthquake? So glad to find this site.
