What role do you believe that Germany and Chancellor Merkel are playing in prophecy considering their stance against Eurozone debt sharing/bailouts. I think it is wise for them not to bail out Europe. They are a strong economic entity, all to their own, that could wield a certain amount of power and political swagger going into the rapture.
This level of detail is not included in the Bible’s account of the revived Roman Empire. What it does say that there will be difficulty holding it together, comparing it to the difficulty of holding iron and shards of pottery together (Daniel 2:41-43). Verse 42 says the empire will be partly strong and partly weak. Personally, I believe if Western Europe survives at all, it will be the weak sister and the Eastern (now Muslim) leg of the Roman Empire will be the strong one.
