I was wondering when you see the first half of Dan. 9:27 (3 1/2 years of peace) coming into play. This must be the time period when the Jews will be allowed to build the Temple, which the Antichrist will immediately occupy at the end of that period, in the middle of the 7 years of Daniel. There must be some significant period of peace if the Temple is to be built, and the Jews are living in complete safety (Ezek. 38:8,10,14; 1 Thes. 5:2,3). Something significant must have happened to the Muslims if the Jews are allowed to rebuild their Temple.
This is one reason why I believe Psalm 83 , Isaiah 17 and then Ezekiel 38 all have to precede Daniel’s 70th Week. The first two will create the false peace Israel needs in order to be surprised by Ezekiel 38, and I believe God will use Ezekiel 38 to draw Israel back to him (Ezek. 39:22). Until that happens Israel will not return to their covenant relationship and will not want a temple for the right reasons.
For example, the desire for a Temple being voiced in Israel lately is not so they can worship God, it’s to add weight to their claim that they lived there in the past and should be considered a Jewish nation going forward. In other words, it’s political, not spiritual.
By the way, none of this impacts the nearness of the rapture, which is an unrelated event that could happen at any time.
