Help! End Times Prophecy Scares Me

Published: December 13, 2015
Q

I will admit I haven’t read the entire Bible and do not go to church, but I have a strong faith in the Lord and his wonderful work. I was directed to your site by a friend, and am a little worried about everything related to “the end times”. I read your book, “7 Things You Have To Know To Understand End Times Prophecy” and I am pretty terrified now. I am hoping someone can give me some peace of mind and maybe tell me I read something wrong. I am afraid of the terrible things that will happen with the weather, disease, starvation, etc. It sounds like things are going to get so incredibly terrible in this world and we may suffer great death and endure torture before the Lord will come. Is this true? Can you tell me something to educate me further? Thank you for your help!

Stumped Over John The Baptist As Elijah

Published: December 6, 2015
Q

I have read and reread your fine article on “John the Baptist: Elijah or Not,” In it you said John the Baptist was actually Elijah. I simply cannot understand this. If there is some way you can help me to understand, I would appreciate it so much. Now, if you are saying that John was a type of Elijah, that I could understand, but you seem to be saying that John was the actual Elijah. I have read almost all of your site content and this is the first time I have been stumped.

The Glorious Appearing

Q

There are two places mentioned Christ’s return and I’m not sure how these occur in terms of timing or sequence:

1) Zech 14:4 at mount of Olives

2) Rev 19:13 at Bozrah (also cited at Is. 63:1-4).

I might think that God will have the battle at Bozrah (Jordan) first, then land His feet on the mount of Olives since Zechariah mentioned about God battling with the people at 14:3.

Moving From Philadelphia To Laodicea

What of those who were Philadelphian Christians & have become Laodicean Christians? I know them, they no longer proclaim Christ Jesus as they used to, following Purpose Driven and other “emerging church” teachings.

Hearing Our Prayers

Published: December 6, 2015
Q

Do you think that the first prayer the Lord listens to is the prayer of salvation? The Bible says if we have iniquity in our heart, the Lord will not hear us. So then would that mean the Lord does not hear the unbelievers prayers? Does that mean He does not hear the prayers of the Jewish people at the wailing wall? I guess He hears them, but does He answer them?

The Span Of God’s Redemptive Work

Published: December 6, 2015
Q

Like many other Christians I am looking for the return of the lord Jesus. If Jesus’ return draws near which is my hope, I was wondering how the enormous price Jesus had to pay on the cross for mankind’s redemption can only be available to the period of mankinds’ existence of around 6000 years. Even if it applies to millenium believers too, the respective time frame is still nothing in contrast to eternity. Thank you for your bible comments and thoughts on this.

Punishment Day? Follow Up

Published: December 6, 2015
Q

Re: Punishment Day? Psalm 50,Daniel 12:1,2 and Rev. 20:4 indicate that the Old Testament Saints & Tribulation martyrs will be resurrected during the glorious second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Before the second coming, the judgment of believers happens at the bema seat where they will be rewarded. How about the judgment of Old Testament Saints & Tribulation martyrs for their rewards?

More On Our Heavenly Mansions

Q

If we don’t have marriage in heaven …. And we all have mansion/rooms in heaven, what is the point of living alone? It would seem kind of lonely being alone in your own place, although that emotion wouldn’t exist.

Punishment Day?

Published: December 6, 2015
Q

I was reading an answer you gave to the question: Am I forgiven enough? Your reply was that all our sins were forgiven the moment we were born again. This raises another question that’s been bothering me. If, like you say that all our sins were forgiven the moment we were born again, then, why do I see so much written about the judgment day? I’ve been told we will be brought before our Lord and be held accountable for everything we did, or didn’t do, said or didn’t say: Punishment Day?

The Men From The Orient

Published: December 6, 2015
Q

The question I have is concerning the Men from the Orient. We have been told that there were only three of them, but we really don’t know for sure. What I want to know is who came out with the idea that one of the Magi was black? Is there any biblical support for this?
