Qualifying Jesus As Israel’s King

Published: April 2, 2025
Q

There is something I want to ask my own church Minister, but never remember to when I see him.

In Mathew chapter 1 verses 1-17 it gives: The book of the generations of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham, showing that Jesus is a descendant of David. Mathew must have known that Joseph was the step-father of Jesus and therefore Jesus could not be a descendant of David through Joseph.

I think that I heard or read somewhere, many years ago, that Mary was also a descendant of David, but do not know if this is true. Is it mentioned anywhere in the Bible? I have not been able to find it.

Can Satan Make God Do Anything?

Can Satan do anything that God does not permit, (example, Satan asking God to remove the hedge he had around Job, and God limiting Satan’s actions against Job)?

Seven Thunders

Published: April 1, 2025
Q

What, in your opinion, was the content/nature of the seven thunders in the book of Revelation, that John was forbidden to record? The events of Revelation are quite terrifying. What could possibly be worse, so much so that the nature/content of the seven thunders is kept secret?

Is The New Jerusalem Heaven?

Published: March 31, 2025
Q

Am I correct in thinking that the New Jerusalem is not actually heaven? Will the New Jerusalem be our home for eternity or does anyone know for sure? The Bible does not give any hints , as far as I know, as to what will happen after the Millennium, so are we to assume that it will be our eternal home?

Why Teach The Resurrection?

Published: March 31, 2025
Q

I have believed in a Rapture for many years now but have this nagging question: If the Rapture includes the dead in Christ as well as those still remaining alive why do we teach about the Resurrection? Since we will be in Heaven with the Lord and there is no longer death does the Rapture not cancel out the Resurrection? After all only the wicked shall remain to be judged but there are two resurrections: that of the righteous and then the unjust. It is appointed unto man once to die and then the Judgment.

Light On Day 1, Sun On Day 4. How Can This Be?

Published: March 31, 2025
Q

In Genesis 1:3 it says, “And God said let there be light and there was light. ” It was day 1. In Genesis 1:16 it says, “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.” It was day 4. So if God didn’t create the Sun and Moon until day 4, what was the light He created on day 1? Also, evenings and morning are determined by the rising and setting of the sun are they not? But if the sun was not created until the fourth day then what determined the days before that?

The Disciples, The Thief, And The Baptism

Published: March 25, 2025
Q

When did the disciples get baptized and invested with the Holy Spirit? And if I am right I believe that the robber who confessed on the cross to the Lord was neither baptized nor invested with the Holy Spirit and yet he was saved. Is that correct?

Why The Mystery? Follow Up

Published: March 25, 2025
Q

Re: Why The Mystery?. Concerning Israel’s acceptance of the Messiah, I’m trying to understand what their acceptance really means. My initial thought was that if they hadn’t killed Him, then that would have been their acceptance of Jesus as the Messiah. But after reading the Q&A, Why the Mystery, it reminded me that He had to die, to fulfill the Scriptures. In it, you said, “Had they accepted the Lord’s death as the final sacrifice for their sins there would have been no Church” So, what would have constituted their acceptance?

Saved Out Of Laodicea?

Published: March 25, 2025
Q

Revelation 3:21 says to him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me on my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Does this mean that there will be some that will go in the rapture out of the Laodicean church? I have mostly thought that none of the apostate church would receive his request, to hear his voice and open the door. Every other church was given the option to overcome.

Blessing God

Q

I’ve been a Christian for nearing 45 years. There’s one thing that I can’t wrap my head around. We’re to come to God with our needs. We’re to praise Him, thank Him and worship Him. It’s my understanding that we’re also to “bless Him.” He blesses us all of the time. I see it in my life all the time. He is everything that is good. He’s able to bless us. What I don’t understand is how we’re supposed to “bless” Him! How do we do that?
