Re: Are We Sure About The Pre-Trib Rapture? I have some friends who used to be pre-trib, but now believe we’ve misinterpreted the Bible and in fact the 7 year tribulation has already begun. How can I dispute this?
If we’re in the tribulation that means Daniel’s 70th week has begun, since these are two names for the same period of time. The time of God’s wrath is another one (Rev. 6:16-17).
But for that to be the case, Israel would have to be back in a national covenant with God and would have to have signed a treaty that the world believes will restore peace to the Middle East. This treaty would have to include provisions for a temple to be built in Israel, and the one who confirms it with Israel would have to be the one the world will soon know as the anti-Christ. I’m also convinced that the Battle of Ezekiel 38-39 would have to have come, since it’s this battle that will bring Israel back into a national relationship with God (Ezek. 39:22) and is the reason for the treaty to be signed.
Add all this to the Bible verses I gave supporting the pre-trib rapture and you can see that the world has not met the necessary conditions for the tribulation to have begun.
