Re: The description of the temple in the book of Ezekiel. Is that for the future, or was that just for the returning Israelites who had been in captivity in Babylon?

No temple matching the dimensions of the one described in Ezekiel 40-46 has ever been built. Most Jewish scholars believe Ezekiel’s temple will be the next one built, and often refer to it as the third temple, Solomon’s Temple being the first, and Zerubabbel’s (aka Herod’s) being the second. I believe this Temple will be built at the beginning of Daniel’s 70th Week, made desolate in the middle by the anti-Christ, and cleansed just after the 2nd Coming for use in the Millennium.
