In your opinion, could the destruction of Damascus come from Russia or Iran, and not Israel? After reading about Russia warning Syria to prepare for war, it does begin to seem highly likely doesn’t it?

Russia and Iran are both strong supporters of Syria. Russia is probably Syria’s closest ally and has been the most vocal of any nation in speaking against any foreign interference in Syrian affairs. Russia has been warning Syria to prepare for war as a friend, not as an enemy.
Also, in Isaiah 17:1 we read that Damascus will be so totally destroyed that it will no longer exist as a city. It’s unlikely that either Russia on Iran would cause this to happen.
