Q
I have a friend who continually says she can’t wait to get to heaven to see her deceased husband. Her daughter tells her she knows of no scripture to confirm this possibility. Can you please give a reply to settle this confusing matter for them?
A
When they get to heaven, believers will see saved friends and loved ones who have gone before and will recognize them. King David confirmed this in 2 Samuel 12:13-23.
What is not clear is exactly how we’ll relate to one another. We’ll all be brothers and sisters in the family of God, but anything beyond that is a mystery for now. However we do know that we won’t experience any regret if it turns out that our relationships are different there than they were here.
