My daughter has moved in with her boyfriend. If the Lord comes back now will she still go to heaven? She is a born again Christian but her boyfriend is not. I hear a lot about how we must be ready for the return of Jesus and I think we should try our best to live holy lives.
Living a holy life is the way we express our gratitude for having received the free gift of salvation. The choices your daughter is making go against this and are not pleasing to the Lord, who wants only the best for her.
That said, our participation in the rapture is based solely on our belief that Jesus died for all our sins and in doing so purchased a pardon for us (Colossians 2:13-14). Accepting this pardon in faith cancels the death penalty caused by our sins and gives us eternal life (John 3:16). From that time on, the manner in which we live can qualify us for blessings here on Earth and crowns in Heaven but it cannot deprive us of the free gift of salvation or inclusion in the rapture (1 Cor. 3:10-15).
