End Times Scoffers

Published: May 17, 2023
Q

I have a question about the scoffers in 2 Peter 3:2-4. Are these scoffers the folks now who tend to frown on the idea of the Rapture of the Church (just kind of generically rolling their eyes at those who are pre-trib, I guess), or are they specific to the time just before the 2nd coming, scoffing in earnest?

Judah And Levi

Q

Since Mary’s cousin Elizabeth and her husband were both Levites, isn’t it likely that Mary was also related to the tribe of Levi on her mother’s side? Jesus is both King and High Priest (after the order of Melchizedek), but I have wondered about this and wanted to know your thoughts. Somehow I feel that the Lord would not leave out a single detail in his incarnation. Thank you. I find your lessons of great comfort and help.

OSAS And Rev. 22:19

Q

I am a believer in eternal security (OSAS), however, sometimes I run into verses I cannot explain, like Rev 22:19. It seems to imply our names can be removed from the Book of Life. What is your take on this verse and its meaning? How does it fit in with OSAS? What would be taking away from the prophecy of this book?

Catholic Christians. Follow Up

Q

In your article ” Catholic Christians” you say that you believe that some Mormons will also make it in the Rapture. On what do you base this? Mormons are not Christian. They believe that Satan and Jesus are brothers. Could it be a typo in your article?

OSAS Refresher

Q

I hear a great deal of debate regarding “Hyper Grace” which I understand is the belief that sin has no consequences because of Gods grace. They say our sins are already forgiven, so it does not matter if we sin. I know that “we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s Glory”, but I also believe that we are to confess our sin and repent of the sin i.e., turn away from the sin. In my mind, deliberately sinning, believing that sin has no consequences, is rejecting what Christ died for! He died and paid the penalty for my sin so that I could be restored back to the Father; not so that I could go back to the sin that He died to set me free from. I hope this makes sense?

Interpreting 1 John 2:22

Q

1 John 2:22 says, “Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist — he denies the Father and the Son.” What is the meaning of “such a man is the antichrist” in this verse? Is this the spirit of the antichrist as said elsewhere? Or something else?

Catholic Christians?

Q

Your answers to questions have cleared up many areas of Bible prophecy in which I was confused or just did not understand. You are a blessing to all of us who desire to understand God’s prophetic word. May God continue to bless your ministry! I recently read on your site, that you believe that many Roman Catholics are saved. Would you please share your belief of this, my heart has been heavily burdened for Roman Catholics, and any encouragement you could provide would be a true ministry to me.

Doers Of The Word

Published: May 12, 2023
Q

The message at our church last week centered around James 1:22-25 be doers of the Word and not hearers only. I can’t help but think that this was a plea for a works based faith to help the church building and keeping our good works confined within the walls of the building. Of course, sprinkled within the message was to help the person in a broken down car on the side of the road, etc. but the pastor kept coming back to our church and doing the Word.

The Origin Of Our Sin Nature

Q

The Bible says in Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (RSV) If we are created in God’s image where does the sin nature each of us has come from?

David’s Throne

Q

Re: Jeremiah 33:17 “For thus says the Lord: ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel.” Is Jeremiah 33:17 a prophecy of Jesus’ rule during the Millennium (not something to be taken literally regarding David and his descendants, as David does not currently have a descendant on the throne)? When was the Davidic line ended? When will it re-start? I believe that I heard a popular Bible teacher state that King David himself (literally) will rule for a time after we are resurrected….is this possible?
