Keeping The Law

Published: December 15, 2021 (Originally published: December 27, 2014)
Q

I’m struggling with the idea that Jesus came to fulfill the law. What does this really mean? In terms of the Levitical law, how do we know what to follow and not follow? From what I understand, the law wasn’t abolished. As I’ve attempted to make sense of Jesus fulfilling the law, it has occurred to me that perhaps the Holy Spirit guides us in what to do concerning the law? Finally, it seems that as a people, we have arbitrarily picked which areas of Levitical law to follow? Thanks for your answer.

What Is The Lord’s Will For Me?

Published: December 16, 2021 (Originally published: December 11, 2014)
Q

I am writing concerning an issue I am facing. I am not sure that I am in the Lord’s will or if I am being deceived. I was recently accepted to graduate school and am receiving lots of resistance from family and friends who don’t think I should be leaving my job and going back to school. At the same time I’m getting encouragement and help from others. So I’m getting confused. Is the resistance a sign that I shouldn’t go or is the help I’m getting a sign that I should. How can a Christian tell what is the Lord’s will ?

Does Isaiah 53 Promise Physical Healing?

Published: December 16, 2021 (Originally published: December 28, 2014)
Q

My husband and I have been reading your articles on healing. Our question has to do with whether it is always God’s will to heal? God’s promise in Isaiah seems to speak of our iniquities and not our infirmities. (King James version) We prayed for a friend’s healing according to the promise of His Word, but feel our faith would be unwavering if we could base it on the literal translation of a word meaning infirmities.

Seven Spirits Of God

Published: April 11, 2025 (Originally published: December 11, 2013)
Q

I was listening to a christian call in show and a question was asked regarding these seven Spirits of God as to their identity. The pastor answered that he honestly didn’t know…but offered various spiritual attributes of The Lord…spirit of wisdom, etc.

I have studied Revelation and came away with their being seven angels. Revelation 5:6 says : “…in the midst…stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” In the beginning of Revelation, Jesus speaks of the “seven stars…and the seven golden candlesticks” which represent respectively the “angels” and the “churches” He would go on to address. So, I am asking you what The LORD has revealed to you about all of this.

Written On Our Hearts

Published: August 25, 2021 (Originally published: August 10, 2012)
Q

In the New Testament when it says the ‘law will be written on our hearts’ what is this law that’s being talked about? How do we know if we’re obeying it if we don’t know clearly what it is? The NT says the greatest law is to love God and to Love others. I just feel confused as He also says if you love me you will obey my laws.
