I believe that salvation is a free gift from God and that once we put our faith in Jesus that we are saved forever according to the Bible. Not because of anything we have done, but because of who God is and what He’s done. I attend an Assembly of God church and their position and the Pastor’s is that you can give your salvation back by continuing in sin or stop believing. My question is this, should a person stay at a church that opposes eternal security? Thank you for all you do and God bless you!

I have a question about faith versus works. I am very much a “by faith alone, in Christ alone” believer (who also believes in OSAS). But, to be perfectly honest, I find myself wondering if faith itself isn’t a form of works. Believing is something you have to do to be saved. In other words, if you don’t “work” it by believing and receiving you won’t be saved. Isn’t that works?

I am a relatively new Christian and have been troubled by the conditional versus eternal salvation issue since the beginning of my walk. Your website has provided me with tremendous relief from this problem and I am very grateful. However, it was recently brought to my attention by an advocate of conditional salvation that during the end times, that a single sin could be eternally damning – taking the mark of the beast. What about Christians who, in a moment of fear and weakness, accept the mark of the beast? Will they be forgiven, or will they have forfeited their salvation by that one act?

A teacher used Romans 11:22 defending the statement that to remain saved we must follow the commandments or be cut off. He also cites James 2:14and 24-26 to back this up. And if we commit “Deadly Sins” our souls are dead and a person is not saved anymore. I understand John 3:16 but there seems to be (in my mind) a contradiction. This topic really bothered me when I read it, and I almost feel like it is going to come down my individual interpretation.

Romans:11:22 contains the phrase, “Otherwise you also will be cut off.” So does this mean that we can we lose our salvation, If we do not continue in His goodness?

If one has a bad habit (tobacco) and has the habit from before they are saved to while they are saved, it is a besetting sin or is it practicing Sin? Regardless, I’m OSAS since day one and more secure with the help of your answers to questions in the past. I love God’s Word and love telling people about the Lord when I get the chance and look forward to His return, my conscience is sharp when I know I’ve hurt someone or done wrong. It sometimes feels as if I’m not changing much though. How can I tell that God is still making me holy (sanctified)?

In Hebrews 12:12-14, it says that unless you live the right way you will never be saved. Verse 14 adds that unless your lives are Holy you will never see the Lord. What do you make of this teaching in light of Grace, Justification and OSAS?

Based on your web site I have come to the belief that you can not lose your salvation, however, I have a question I would like an answer to. I have a friend that, once-upon-a-time believed the Bible and its teachings. It has been recently that she has begun soul searching and has been thinking about converting to another religion (which has yet to be determined). My question is “if she was saved once but then changes her mind and converts to another religion that may not even believe in God or Jesus, will she still keep her salvation?” I would think that choosing to follow “another god” is kind of “spitting in his face”. I just find it hard to believe that a person who was saved and believed in God and Jesus for along time, and runs into a point where they are not sure what to believe, and then changes religions, would still keep their salvation because they kind of decided to not want to believe anymore. Any thoughts? Is there anything I can say or tell my friend to help her find herself?
