Is He Really A Believer?
Published: January 24, 2023I am concerned about my husband. He insists he is a believer but is not living a victorious Christian life. He is an alcoholic and has distanced his entire family, all his former friends, and I am at the end of my tolerance as well. He keeps asking the why everyone hates him and why nothing he tries is ever successful (monetarily). He has been fraudulent in business, thinks nothing of lying, and does it regularly. I have tried to tell him that it may be possible his failure is due to these very things. He doesn’t want to hear it and thinks its a bunch of bull. The way he talks and acts I’m no longer sure he’s a believer. What do you think?
The Scarlet Ribbon
Published: January 23, 2023In your article, “The End Times According to Isaiah, Part 1” you talk about the ritual involving the scapegoat where a scarlet ribbon was tied to the temple door and to the goat, and how it turned white at the moment of the goat’s death. I mentioned this in a Sunday School class yesterday, and someone asked me “Where did he get that info from?” and I thought that was a fair question as we are to evaluate what our leaders say and not just take it blindly. Can you please let me know your reference on this? Thank you so much for your website. I find it very helpful.
Obey God Or My Parents?
Published: January 23, 2023The Bible says to obey your mother and father. In fact, it says to stone children who are disobedient (Deuteronomy 21: 18-21). What should I do if my parents tell me to do something that goes against God’s word?
Ghost Hunting
Published: January 23, 2023A friend of mine used to be my pastor, very committed to the cause. After the dissolution of the church though, it seemed to devastate him, and he no longer attends church, and has gotten involved with ghost hunting and other bad habits. As far as the ghost hunting is concerned, is it considered occultist? I also fear that with him ghost hunting, from what I hear, they can follow and come home with you. Is any of this true? Can you elaborate on the subject?
King James Only?
Published: January 20, 2023Thank you again for your web site and the time you take to answer questions. I was Reading an article about why this man who is well educated considers the KJV to be the only Bible version that is accurate. I know you also use the NIV besides the KJV when you have written your articles. I would like to know what you think about what this man said about the KJV being the only accurate Bible version.
Questions About John’s Letters
Published: January 20, 2023First, thank you for your obedience to our Lord. May our Father bless you and yours, meeting all your needs abundantly and propsering you and yours with peace, health, and spiritual gifts abounding.
I am concerned with two passages from John’s letters. 1 John 5:16-18:
“If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death. We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.
He’s clearly speaking of a ‘brother’…someone in the faith. Then he talks about a sin that leads to death, which should not be prayed about, and a sin that doesn’t lead to death, which we should pray about. What is he referring to? And then there’s vs. 18 saying if we continue in sin, we don’t have God because if we are truly born of God, we don’t sin. This scares me. Badly!
And 2 John 1:8-9: “Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.”
Here he speaks of guarding against not losing what we worked for. And then saying that if we run ahead and not continuing in the teaching of Christ we don’t have Christ. Please explain so I may have peace of mind concerning OSAS.
Did Secret Societies Write The Bible?
Published: January 20, 2023Is it possible that secret societies took the Bible and rewrote it to say what they want us to know? Is there not an Almighty God that can protect the Word of God to get US the TRUTH?
Are The Spirit And The Glorified Body Different?
Published: January 19, 2023Re: Luke 24:37-40.
The Lord was INVISIBLE to the disciples, and He APPEARED before them; they thought it was a ghost. What was the body of the Lord after the resurrection? Is spirit and spiritual/glorified body different?
Am I Still Saved?
Published: January 19, 2023I lived a life of terrible sin for years. When I turned to the Lord Jesus I confessed my sins in general but couldn’t remember all the sins I committed throughout my life. I now confess my sins in general occasionally ( I forget to pray many days) but don’t remember specific sins (like having lustfull thoughts). Am I still saved?
Ignoring Family And Friends
Published: January 19, 2023I have a Christian friend who says that we are not to have anything to do with friends or family who are not believers. He said we are to ignore them. I know we are to leave family and everything and follow Christ, but are we suppose to ignore and have nothing to do with them? What is Bible doctrine on this?
