Could Jesus Have Sinned?

Published: October 21, 2024
Q

I know Christ was sinless and never sinned ever, even when tempted but my question is: Could He have sinned if He choose to? I think he could not. I have asked many preachers and elders and have never really gotten a clear answer. Please let me know what you think.

Re: Jeremiah 31:31-34. Is there a difference between the New Covenant for the Church and the New Covenant for Israel?

Bothered By My Sins

Q

If a person cannot live carefree in sin and yet still sins, can this internal battle be looked to as a “proof” of sorts that he or she has the Holy Spirit within and is saved?

Doubting My Faith

Published: October 18, 2024
Q

I am struggling with some things for days now, and my father told me to write to you about them. This is one of my problems, and I’m not sure if its just attacks from Satan or what because I’m constantly unsure if I’m a child of God, and I feel very afraid. What is the difference between doubt and unbelief? I am scared that I don’t have the faith to be saved, and I get a terrible fear in my heart. Can you please give me advice?

Becoming What We Already Are

Q

I know your site well enough to know that you say “You are saved by what you believe, not how you behave.” Though I completely agree with you, I still run across Biblical “scholars” that say things like this:

“I spent most of my younger years believing I was a Christian, but one day a born again believer explained what it took to be a Christian and I realized I had been wrong for years; I had swallowed the lie. There must be a conversion from a life of sin to a new creature who repents and turns from sin.”

I know that as God’s children, we should strive to be more Christ-like every day, but this sounds like another example of belief plus works. Would you agree?

The Gift Of The Holy Spirit

Q

I have a question about this verse: “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” My question is, did Jesus imply we have to ask for the Holy Spirit? I thought the Spirit was already sealed in us by God when we first believed?

Blessing And Cursing

Published: September 30, 2024
Q

I know God wants us to love everyone as if they were our brother. But if God said that He will curse those who curse Israel are we also permitted to do the same?

I have a hard time with having a loving feeling towards anyone who hates Israel. Could you please advise me of what you think.

Thanks for your blessed work. We really need your guidance and knowledge of understanding prophecy at this time.

Why Was Jesus Standing?

Published: September 27, 2024
Q

I have a question about Acts 7:56 when Stephen was being stoned and heaven opened up and he saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God. In another teaching I was listening to the teacher implied that it meant something that Jesus was standing and not sitting. I’ve looked this up and gotten a few different explanations. I’d like to know what you think about this.

A Question About Offense

Published: September 27, 2024
Q

I understand the obligation to forgive and am striving to do so, but how do I deal with being offended by a minster who refuses to repent, will not say sorry, has no intention of correcting the wrong and sees no reason to make any effort to deal with the matter. The minister concerned knows that they have done wrong but is of the view that ministers should never lower themselves to apologize to the laity.

Brother And Sister Or Husband And Wife?

Published: September 26, 2024
Q

I thought it strange that Abraham claimed Sarah was his sister twice and then Isaac did the same thing. Apparently, they both feared for their lives, (rather than laying down their lives for their wives). Abraham had experienced great military victories in the past, too, so it is hard to conceive he was fearful of anything or anyone. Was there a middle east custom whereby a husband would be killed to obtain his wife?
