This week in India 6-13-25

This week we have a sad prayer request and many praises. We mourn with Laxmi as we pray hard for her. And we celebrate the many praises this week as well.

Quick links to the other parts this week:

Praying for Laxmi

I’m so sad to share that the doctors have confirmed the tumor is back  and they’ve begun chemotherapy. Before, it was too big to operate and she had to undergo an intense round of radiation. Thankfully, this time they’ve caught it earlier and can do chemo, but she’s discouraged, understandably so, and we are as well. She’s almost through her first course in nursing, and really wants to continue. We’re praying for complete healing and for her ability to continue her studies.

If you are new here, Laxmi had a large tumor in her neck that was cutting off blood supply to her brain. The doctors called for immediate surgery, and then saw it was too dangerous to remove surgically. She then needed a very hard radiation course of treatment to shrink the tumor. She would need to travel two hours a day for 25 days, fighting the fatigue, nausea, and weight loss that accompany such an extreme dose of radiation for 25 treatments. But she did it! And she did so well on her final exams she got a full-ride scholarship to college!

Joel

We brought Joel in for a follow-up for the hit he took a bit back. We also just got word that he’s been accepted into a special school for kids with learning disabilities! There he’ll be able to get focused teaching at his speed!

Little Rebecca

Little Rebecca continues to come every few days for the bandages to be changed and she’s healing well!

Munirathna

Munirathna is one of the women from our new outreach to the blind. When she came to Christ, she said she and her husband had been trying to have a baby for a long time and asked the group to pray for her. She’s pregnant!!  Please pray with us for her and their little one!

Toiletries for the kids!

Thank you so much for your prayers! We’re still waiting on the land that’s been promised for them! It’s been such a long road, and years of your prayers that have gotten us this far. Please continue to pray with us for them for this provision from the Lord. Thank you so much for being on this journey with us!

Thank you for your love, and your prayers for those we serve around the world! It’s absolutely amazing what happens when we come together and follow the Lord’s leading. I’m beyond grateful for you all!
