Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico.

Our Escuelita

The weather here is beginning to warm up and we had some sun this week. Just in time for the first day of Summer! Many of our friends around the world are already on Summer break, but our kids aren’t there yet. But we are planning for a LOT of time together over the break and all the back to school prep!

Delivering groceries

We were able to bring food to the families in need who we met after the house fires. We helped repair homes (you can see pics here and here!) and were even able to help one family rebuild their tamale making livelihood!

Keeping Olga Dry!

This is something I have been praying for a long time! Olga has volunteered with us since our son Aidan was a toddler! When we lost Jack, she stepped up and helped me manage all the many details of our outreaches. She is so fierce and loving and we couldn’t do all we do without her. When we began praying about the next home repair project we could do after Dinora’s house. In the meantime, several in our group asked about Olga specifically and if she needed anything. Her home is bare block on the outside on three sides and leaks so much water each time it rains. It pours down the walls on the inside, they are so porous.

It got even worse when the neighbor above her did some landscaping and moved a fence. The rain now runs off their roof right into her. This eroded the block wall, and made a hole right inside. In desperation, her son carved out another block for the river of water to exit. She had flowing water going through her house. When I was first hearing about this, I thought I had misunderstood and that it was an outside retaining wall that was leaking! Nope, the water was flowing right into her home.

So I was so excited when the Lord began putting her on people’s hearts, and we were able to begin plastering the outside for her! Thank you!!

It’s hard to show in pics just how steep the properties are in this area!

Thank you so much for praying with us for those we serve together!
