When a Christian says that they want the ‘abundant life’ what exactly does that mean? It seems to me that over the years the meaning has changed. Please, would you site scripture to help me understand this?

I have a question concerning the topic of first mention. I have heard that with the potter and the clay (Romans 9) that it actually refers to service that GOD has you do for him and not to salvation like the Calvinists believe. Could you please shed some light on this and possibly look at the potter and the clay in light of the topic of first mention.

Re: Who Are The Called. Would you agree that the Bible teaches that the free will vs predestination arguments (God choose us and we Choose Him) are both true and we can no more understand it than we can the trinity or the creation of Satan?

Once we have received salvation we are attuned to the Spirit of God. What happens to our spirit when we back slide? I know we are permanently sealed and even the gates of hell cannot undo our salvation, nor can we ourselves undo our salvation. I know during our periods of back sliding we are out of fellowship with Christ and open doors for curses and receive no blessings during this time. What I want to know is, our spirit, are we still attuned to the Spirit of God while we are out of fellowship?

In a discussion on Calvinism someone asked me about John 17:9, where Jesus tells His Father, “I do not pray for the world, but for those who You have given me.” This person used it in support of the view that some are born to be saved while others are not. Why did Jesus say that?

Why did the sacrifice of animals in the Old Testament only temporarily cover sin for people (if it was an innocent substitute), while the blood of Jesus covers us entirely from sin? I’m not trying to or intending to compare Jesus’s blood with an animal’s blood, but why was the shedding of an Innocent Man’s blood worth so much more (in God’s eyes) than the shedding of innocent animals blood? Was it because only God Himself was able to pay for the sins of the world on the cross?

Colossians 3:25 gives me trouble. I know that just before it is written you will get your reward from him. But then it says whosoever does wrong will be paid for those wrongs. What about forgiveness?

I know that the raptured Saints will live in the New Jerusalem with glorified bodies during the millennium. My question concerns the tribulation Saints living on earth during the millennium in their natural bodies. Will persons entering the millennium with some sort of handicap enter with conditions such as missing limbs or mental disabilities? We read where there will be no more sadness, crying, or suffering during this 1,000 years. Will these people be changed or will live on earth during the millennium, after having gone through 7 years of Tribulation, make them more than happy? What is your opinion on this subject?

Some Christians believe that the spirit and soul go to heaven at the time of physical death. Others say that the spirit goes to heaven but the soul sleeps until the resurrection. I find this a confusing issue as I believe that the spirit and soul are in inseparable and both go to heaven. Is there Bible passages that clarify this?

What constitutes the body, soul and spirit. Does the body include the subconscious? Is the soul your personality? Where does the Holy Spirit reside? Is your spirit your conscience? What goes to Heaven or Hell, your soul, your spirit or both?

In Luke 13:23-30 Jesus commands some followers who question Him about ‘Are there just a few who are being saved’ to “strive to enter through the narrow door”. Well, the word ‘strive’ sounds like ‘work’ to me and I thought we were saved by faith and not by works (Eph 2:8-9)? Could you explain this passage?

In Ezekiel 38:1-6 what does the phrase “turn you around” mean? Where is Gog being turned around from? This has always puzzled me, and I have never found anyone mention it in a study of Ezekiel 38. Most teachers jump over that phrase to “put hooks in your jaws.” I feel that The Holy Spirit guided the writing of our Bible and that phrase is no accident, but I am at a loss as to what it means. Recently I was watching a very popular television evangelist and his sermon was on the Judgments. He stated that at the White Throne judgment, he, and everybody in the congregation, all those watching on television and listening on the radio would have to account for every bad/wrong word spoken and all our bad deeds during our lifetime (Rev 20: 12). How does this stack up with the belief that we confess our sins, have a heartfelt belief that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and arose on the third day, then our sins are forgiven and cast into the deepest sea, never to be remembered?

I forgot what I was listening to the other day but the person said that there is a symbolic representation of the 153 fishes in John 21:11. I remember it had something to do with the 3 troops of 51 soldiers from the old testament. I was wondering if you can expand on this idea?

I understand what Amillennialists think and I know how it is not biblical and has to spiritualize things. My question is why do they think this way? I mean the truth is the truth, but usually when people are not sticking to the truth they have some benefit in mind to them for their way of thinking. So what motivates the Amillennialist?
