More On The USA In Prophecy

Published: January 26, 2022 (Originally published: June 7, 2015)
Q

I was reading on another Christian web site some of the reasons why the US is not mentioned in Bible prophecy. One reason is that the US could have such an economic collapse that we wouldn’t be considered a world power any longer. Also possibly Russia or Iran might attack us with EMP weapons prior to their attack on Israel to prevent us from aiding Israel. Then there’s the possibility that the Rapture would have such a devastating effect on the US we would no longer be considered a world power.

I’ve looked around your web site and don’t seem to find any information on what you think might be the reason the US is not mentioned in Bible prophecy. Could you please discuss what you think is the reason(s) we are not mentioned in Bible prophecy?

Still More On Psalm 83

Published: June 10, 2010 (Originally published: June 9, 2010)
Q

Your recent article- Psalm 83…Preview of a Coming Attraction- contains a couple items I think are either wrong or at least need additional explaining to me. You make a statement: Psalm 83 was probably written some time after the end of King Solomon’s reign (about 900 BC) . But, as you point out, this Psalm was written by Asaph. In 1 Chr. 15:16-17 it says that David had the Levites appoint singers, of which Asaph was one, to bring back the Ark early in David’s kingship. It doesn’t seem likely that he was still writing Psalms after David’s 40 reign and Solomon’s 40 reign (Asaph would have to be well over 100).

Secondly, as for Psalm 83 being an unfulfilled prophecy, Psalm 83:7 lists Amalek as one of the peoples attacking Israel. You make note that: The Amalekites lived in Israel’s southern desert. But according to the Bible the Amalekites were totally wiped out How are a people who, according to the Bible, haven’t been around for 3000 years going to take part in a still future battle? With the elimination of Amalek, Psalm 83 would have to be viewed as history rather then prophecy.

Daniel 2 And The EU

Published: January 11, 2008 (Originally published: January 11, 2008)
Q

I showed a friend your article Seven Major Prophetic Signs Of The Second Coming, but he’s not convinced the part about the statues legs referring to the current day EU (Daniel 2:36-45). I know it’s roots are Rome, but I’m not sure how to put a solid case to him about it. He says we shouldn’t be so quick to be impressed by a passage so vague that it was inevitably going to apply to countless examples of inter country diplomacy over the ages.

How do we know for sure that the statue passage in Daniel is referring to the EU when talking about the legs?

Are Today’s Israelis “Real” Jews?

Published: September 25, 2006 (Originally published: September 25, 2006)
Q

In the Bible it says that God made a Covenant with Abraham. This Covenant was carried on to his descendants, (Gen.17:9) all the way to the 12 Tribes of Israel.

Abraham had a son named Ishmael. Being that Ishmael was a descendant of Shem and Heber, that would make him both a Semite AND a Hebrew. He is also the father of what we now know as Arabs.

With all this kept in mind…I not too long ago saw on TV, that DNA tests have shown, that the Jews that are coming from Eastern Europe and Russia have no connection at all to the Israelites. In fact, they are from the old Khazarist empire, and other places. Whom did not become Jews till about 750 AD.

My question is this…If over 90% of those making up the Nation of Israel now, are as DNA says not real Jews (from the tribe of Judah of the Org.12), have we not done the Devils work as we were warned by John in Rev.2:9 and 3:9, by making the nation in 1948?

If the Arabs are Semites and Hebrews….are we not compounding our sin even farther if we take the side of the people in the nation now named Israel when they go to war?

So from what I am getting here, is that the bloodlines in the Bible mean a LOT to Him. Should it not mean something to us also? As I am a new Christian, your thoughts and more experienced wisdom on this matter mean a lot to me.

What’s Going On In Damascus?

The city of Damascus is mentioned 60 times in the Bible from Genesis 14:15 to Acts 22:10. Abraham’s chief servant, Eliazer, was from Damascus and Paul spent his first days as a Christian there. According to Flavius Josephus, Damascus was founded by Uz,

Ezekiel 38 Question

Published: June 27, 2006 (Originally published: June 27, 2006)
Q

I recently read your series of articles on “7 Things you must know to understand Bible Prophecy”–a very excellent portion. Thank you so much! I do have a question however, concerning Ezek. 38.

Everyone seems to think this could be fulfilled any day now, given the current situation in Iran, and their connections with Russia. If that were true, then of course the Rapture could be at anytime also.

However, in reading that portion of Ezekiel, it seems to me there are some very important criteria that have not been met, and that don’t seem likely to happen anytime soon. It seems very clear that when this portion of prophecy will be fulfilled Israel will be at peace and dwelling securely in the land. That is certainly not the case at this time–far from it!

It also mentions the attack is on horseback, and with quite primitive weapons. Is it possible that this portion is really an expansion of Rev 20, at the very end of the Millennium when the final rebellion takes place? It just does not seem to me to fit our current situation by any stretch of the imagination.

If not, then would it not be more likely that after some global crisis ( like Iran nuking us and Israel and everybody retaliating) that Antichrist appears on the scene to bring his “utopian” false peace out of the chaos? It is possible the church could still be here at that point, but then when the world is finally saying at last,”peace and safety”, God brings sudden destruction on them with the beginning of the seal judgments and the Rapture of the church. It could be at that time that Israel is dwelling “securely” in the land with no more walled villages, and builds their temple, due to their relationship to Antichrist.

Anyway,to me, it just does not seem likely to have Ez38/39 happening any time now… just wanted your thoughts.
