Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38, Same Or Different?

Published: December 11, 2009 (Originally published: December 10, 2009)
Q

Side-by-side arguments concerning interpretation of Psalm 83 are currently listed in Rapture Ready. Both sides make believable points to the untrained novice’s eschatological eye. After reading both viewpoints, I still believe that Psalm 83 describes a war separate from Ezekiel 38. However, if someone asked me to justify this position, I don’t believe that I could make a precise, concise, cogent argument because of all the nuances in prophetic interpretations involved in these two articles.

If you will, at some point would you kindly write a “precise-concise” rebuttal to the “Psalm 83 is a non-war” stance? There has to be at least one linchpin errancy in interpretation that will cause a domino effect in demonstrating the falsehood of this argument. Thank you, Jack, for all that you do for your readers. No other eschatology site even comes close.

Israel’s Coming Battles and The Rapture

Published: September 16, 2013 (Originally published: September 17, 2013)
Q

I used to believe that the Rapture would need to happen before either Psalm 83 or Ezekiel 38 could occur. My reasoning was that as long as America was both a super-power and Israel’s ally, no one would dare attack Israel (although it never stopped the Arabs in the past, I was thinking more along the lines of Russia and Iran). With our economy on precipice and the world no longer fearing us (watch the news), I’ve begun to think that the Rapture would not be necessary to weaken America sufficiently to encourage Israel’s enemies to attack. And having just read your article about the Restrainer, the sad thought that the Rapture might not occur until after the battles of Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 entered my mind.

Since Paul stated that the Restrainer (Holy Spirit) will be removed at the “proper time” to reveal the anti-Christ, wouldn’t that suggest that the Restrainer would be removed just before the opening of the first seal rather than at an earlier point in time (e.g. before either Psalm 83 or Ezekiel 38)?

An Ezekiel 38-39 Question

Published: August 18, 2006 (Originally published: August 18, 2006)
Q

I found your site a few months ago and now I’m here everyday reading the question and answer section.

My question is regarding Ez.39:9. If Russia, Iran, etc, etc, invade Israel midway in the tribulation, will Israel be burning their weapons into the millennium? Do you believe this war could occur before the rapture or soon after?

Another question…..I have been listening to End time ministries for awhile. I am pre-trib to the core and I am astounded at some of the things this guy comes up with. He said the other day that the first five trumpet judgments have already taken place. Does this guy think we are in the first half of the tribulation?

I thank the Lord for your site.

The Wars Of The Second Seal Judgment

Published: August 27, 2020 (Originally published: August 15, 2013)
Q

You have stated that the opening of the 2nd Seal will be characterized by major wars breaking out in various places. If these wars are associated with the 2nd seal, that would mean they will occur after Ezk. 38. So who do you think they will involve, where might they be fought, and what might be the reasons for these conflicts? Do you think they will involve only Israel? With the Rapture having already occurred causing a considerable weakening of America’s defenses, wouldn’t you think this would be a time when Russia might launch an attack on us? Especially with our recent worsening relationship with them?

Prophecy And Current Events

Q

Prophecy wise, it looks as if all is coming together and yet when studying what the Word says and trying to fit in the every day events, I’m more confused than ever. I’ve just read about the U.S and Germany being friendly over some sort of “Single market” pact. Isn’t Germany in prophecy?

Also, the U.S. is still seeking a 2 state plan between Israel and the Palestinians. Doesn’t that put us at odds with God’s purposes? Are these not more signs of how close we are to the end?

More End Times Questions

Published: April 22, 2013 (Originally published: April 21, 2013)
Q

As I read all your End Times articles, I understand so much of what is happening now and will happen in the Middle East after the Rapture. My question is what countries will be punished in relation to ‘scattered Jews’ of old. America must be on that list. Who else?

Secondly, what is happening around the world after the Rapture? Is the whole world punished, and just the major wars occur in the Mid – East; or is war world wide? Is any counrty ‘safer’ than another ? ( ei – Judea/Petra ). I love your site. I apologize if this question has already been answered.

The Destruction Of Damascus

Published: July 24, 2006 (Originally published: July 24, 2006)
Q

Hal Lindsey wrote an article where he confirms your earlier prediction about the destruction of Damascus happening prior to the Rapture.

My question is, if Damascus is destroyed by Israel, how can the Ezekiel 38 come to pass, as Israel is described as a city without walls, etc? Does this have to do with the anti-Christ’s peace accord? Somehow Israel must think that nobody will bother them. At the present time, Russia, Iran, and Syria have made a pact. How could Israel not see Ezekiel 38 coming a mile away?
