About The Trinity

Published: September 29, 2016
Q

I have a question about the Trinity. What do you think happened to the Trinity at the crucifixion – if Jesus was separated from His father by bearing the sins of mankind? Also if Jesus took everyone’s sin does that mean he descended into Hell before being resurrected and if so was that as Triune?

The Book Of Life

Q

I have a question regarding Revelation 3:5 and the Book of Life. My pastor recently preached this verse to say that all the names of every human being who ever lived has their name written in the Book of Life, then if they die without faith in Christ, their name is blotted out. However, when I look at this verse it speaks of not blotting out names. I have always understood that the Book of Life has only ever contained the names of the elect, and that this verse assures us that we cannot lose our salvation: if we have repented of our sin and accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, then we can never lose the promise of our eternity with Christ, we can never be blotted out of the Book. Can you please clarify this for me?

Have I Committed Blasphemy?

Published: September 29, 2016
Q

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your web site and all the wealth of wisdom and information that you teach. I can’t remember how I got to your site but I have been enjoying it since.

My question is regarding Matthew 12:31,32, and is more of a personal nature. I would like to understand it more fully because that passage has always brought on many attacks from the enemy. I was raised in a catholic background and have always believed in God and Jesus and always trusted in Him for my needs, but one day upon reading this passage I stopped to ponder on what it meant to blaspheme the Holy Spirit and in my mind came all sorts of terrible thoughts against the Holy Spirit. I thought that I committed that sin and could not get past that it would not be forgiven in this life or the next.

I know that back then(20yrs), I didn’t understand the full meaning of that passage. It still creates some uneasiness for me when I read it even though I trust The Lord for my salvation, I have a hard time forgiving myself for allowing the thoughts to have taken such a hold on me. Could you explain that passage for me so that I can move beyond the fear once and for all, and is it common for believers to think that they somehow have committed that sin. it was once explained to me that one who commits such a sin isn’t aware nor cares. Your insight and wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

The Sign Of Jonah

Published: September 29, 2016
Q

When the Pharisees asked for a sign, the Lord Jesus said in Matthew:

12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Why then the scribes and Pharisees did not say anything about what the Lord said? I mean, did they understand that the Lord will die and come back after 3 days? Did they not know that Jonah died inside the belly of fish and was raised back?

The Jewish View Of Zechariah 12:10

Published: September 29, 2016
Q

I have a question about Genesis 18:1. It says that three men appeared to Abraham and that he fed them. Is this the Trinity? Does God eat?

Also, in Zechariah 12:10 when it says they will look upon Him who they pierced and they will mourn, why don’t the Jews make the connection between that prophecy and Jesus? How do they explain it? Thank you for all your help.

Saving My Jewish Family

Published: September 29, 2016
Q

As a Jew and believer in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior … It is needless to say that I get many twisted looks from family and friends … If I had a dollar for all the “rolling of eyes” I get … However, my concern is that my family and loved ones won’t be saved since they deny Christ … I find it disheartening that I am looked on as a “sellout” or “crazy” …

I had a conversation with my father the other day and I asked him if he could have dinner with one person, whom would he choose. He said Moses because he has a lot of questions to ask a man who spoke with God. I said that is a good answer. He asked me who I would choose. I said Jesus. He asked me why, since Jesus came after Moses. I told him that Jesus came before Moses. The look on his face was of shock and disbelief. I don’t even think he understood where I was coming at first and when he did he just shook his head.

I pray that the cloud concealing The Truth is lifted from them but it has come to the point where I just rather not even speak about it anymore. I tell myself this is the devil trying to keep me from bringing salvation to family and friends but I don’t know what I can do.

What do you think?? It is so sad how the Chosen People are blind to their own Messiah. What a trick the devil has played on my people. Thank you and God bless you!!

Body And Spirit

Q

Job 14:12, Dan. 12:13, John 3:13, 5:28 and some others seem to indicate we are asleep until awakened at the resurrection. How do you understand these scriptures? True the bible says absent from the body present with the lord, but when? When we awake at his calling. John 3:13 says no one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven etc.

Fighting Bride?

Published: September 29, 2016
Q

Pastor Jack, Thank God for you. You have been a major blessing. God is mightily pouring His wisdom out to us – His church – through a willing vessel like you. God bless you.

I have a question. We had a guest speaker come to our church. A very anointed man of God – he shared with us a vision that God showed him about the end time battle. I wasn’t able to quiet get the picture. (Summary of the vision) Is this the Bride of Christ returning during the war of Armageddon? If yes, will the bride face death? I want to understand this clearly. Can you help?

Union Or Fellowship?

Published: September 29, 2016
Q

I just finished reading your teaching on OSAS and had SO many questions answered. Thank you!

Toward the end of your message you wrote: “Those that stress belief, explain the permanent nature of our bond with God, and are directed toward eternity are Union verses. Those that involve grace and faith are Gift verses. Those that require work and are directed at the quality of our lives on Earth are Fellowship verses, and those that require work and involve eternal rewards are Prize verses.

I was thinking. It has bothered me that the need for repentance is not mentioned in verses like John 3:16, 1 John 5:12-13, Romans 10:9-10. Would all the verses in Scripture telling us to repent and be saved be verses dealing with Fellowship rather than Union since repentance involves a work? This is something I just can’t seem to get clear in my mind.

I’ve understood that repentance is a natural consequence of asking the Holy Spirit into our hearts. But wouldn’t it still be considered a work because we CAN choose to ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit. If we DO ignore them and make no changes in our lives but yet still believe in Jesus Christ and in the work He did for us on the cross, that he IS God, that He WAS resurrected, if we really believe these things which are necessary for salvation but still refuse to give up our worldly lives, are we still saved? WOULD repentance be along the lines of Fellowship and not Union?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for your continued service to our Lord Jesus Christ. I look forward to your response.

Were Dinosaurs ‘Named’ By Adam?

Published: September 29, 2016
Q

Were dinosaurs ‘named’ by Adam? Isn’t that a good question? Think about it. Why is it all animals have a name from Adam and they all carried over after the flood…except for dinosaurs? I understand the word ‘dinosaur’ became a word in 1841. I also understand that the words dragon and Behemoth that are found in the bible are most likely talking about a dinosaur. So, why do dinosaurs have names from recent discoveries in the fossil record but not the name that Adam chose? And, I believe with all my heart dinosaurs were on the Ark of Noah. I look forward to your answer. Many blesses to you all there at Grace Thru Faith.
