My children refuse to forgive me for something terrible I did many years ago. I do not want their failure to forgive me held against them. If I ask the Lord not to hold that sin against them, as He did on the cross, will God not hold it against them?

I have a question about James 5:19,20. I have just recently been confronted again by some dear relatives who have the strange idea that I no longer belong to God and they think it is their duty to restore me. When I mentioned Eternal Security they said I couldn’t prove it, so I gave them one of your articles and sent them away to study it.

In the mean time I was searching your site for something on James 5:19,20 and couldn’t find anything or possibly missed it. Do you have anything on this passage? Anything you can teach me on this will be greatly appreciated.

Based on your web site I have come to the belief that you can not lose your salvation, however, I have a question I would like an answer to. I have a friend that, once-upon-a-time believed the Bible and its teachings. It has been recently that she has begun soul searching and has been thinking about converting to another religion (which has yet to be determined). My question is “if she was saved once but then changes her mind and converts to another religion that may not even believe in God or Jesus, will she still keep her salvation?” I would think that choosing to follow “another god” is kind of “spitting in his face”. I just find it hard to believe that a person who was saved and believed in God and Jesus for along time, and runs into a point where they are not sure what to believe, and then changes religions, would still keep their salvation because they kind of decided to not want to believe anymore. Any thoughts? Is there anything I can say or tell my friend to help her find herself?

I am so tired. Due to my sin nature, I find that living in God’s will is impossible. I invoke 1 John 1:9 and only minutes later find my thoughts rushing back into the situation for which I just sought forgiveness. I am desperate for the blessings of God. I am so thankful for what Jesus did for me and at the same time, I find that obedience through gratitude is such an elusive goal.

Some bodies of deceased believers have been cremated and/or destroyed via explosion. Others have been devoured by wild animals, and still others by fish and other creatures of the sea. Are these the same bodies that Christ will make new during the rapture? Or, do you think that Christ will make completely new bodies for those believers?

I frequently hear post-trib believers say that 1 Thes. 5:9 doesn’t promise believers escape from the end times judgments but from eternal punishment in Hell. Can this be true?

I read in your response “Decreasing Life Spans” your explanations of water vapor protection and electromagnetic fields being possible causes for the extraordinary (by our standards) life spans. I always thought that the post-Eden life spans were due to the lingering effect of Adam and Eve having eaten from the Tree of Life. In Genesis 3, God cited as one of the reasons He banned the couple from the Garden, His concern that they would continue to eat from the Tree of Life and live forever. I always assumed that the farther away from the Tree of Life the generations grew, the shorter their life spans became.

This past Sunday I explained to the SS Class the difference between Life Span and Generation Span. One question which I had no answer for was, if the Bible, I think in Psalm, states we have 70 years, or if lucky, 80 years, does it state in the Bible why after the Flood, if people like Abraham, Isaac, etc, lived into their 100’s…why did the age fall from that span back to the 70 or 80 range?

David and other psalmists have some things to say about their enemies and instructions for how they want the lord to deal with it. We are to pray for our enemies blessing and eventual salvation according to Jesus. I’ve even heard before that if you pray bad things on people, it’ll boomerang and you’ll end up with the same troubles, that it is essentially witchcraft to call down curses on people. Care to comment?

I have read very sound teaching and very sound answers given on your site. I do not say this to flatter you and I’m sure you are not, but thanks are in order as I read your weekly articles. In 2 Cor. 6 I see commands to not associate ourselves with non believers and in 2 Peter 2 strong words against false teachers. I have read your answers to people’s questions and it seems to me that some of the people writing in are actually being taught by false teachers.

So, why do you not address the problem of teachers, bad at the least and false at the worst, when you respond to these questions? I do believe we should come out of the assemblies, (churches), where there are false teachers at the pastor or head elder position. Would not the church be stronger and God be glorified?
