What Are The Signs That Indicate God Is Calling Us?

Published: October 24, 2015
Q

In one of your answers about God’s foreknowledge and predestination you said that God draws to Himself the persons He knows will choose Him. What are the signs that God is drawing somebody to Himself? If I see these signs could I be absolutely 100% sure that he/she will be born again in the end?

About Apologetics

Published: October 24, 2015
Q

There’s so much evidence out there; from evidence for the Bible, arguments for God’s existence, and historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. I realize that ultimately our faith is not based on evidence but on the witness of the Holy Spirit to our hearts, but it’s nice to have so much confirmation and be able to answer people’s questions. My question is, what is your view about apologetics (evidence and arguments)?

He’s Lost That Loving Feeling

Published: October 23, 2015
Q

I have a friend who thinks that he has out-sinned God because he no longer feels or hears the Spirit anymore. He has had a long walk with the Lord. Is there any way to explain what has happened to him? Thank you for your ministry.

Is Alcohol Forbidden?

Published: October 23, 2015
Q

I am considering attending Bible college classes at my local church. As part of the application, students promise not to smoke or drink alcohol both on campus and on our own time. I am not a smoker, but enjoy an occasional glass of wine, especially at our family celebrations. Is this rule Biblical? In the New Testament God told us we could eat and drink anything we want. I totally agree that getting drunk is a sin, but even Jesus drank wine. I also would not order an alcoholic beverage or serve alcohol if I knew that someone around me had a problem with alcohol. I would appreciate your guidance.

The Rich Man And Lazarus. One More Time

Published: October 14, 2015
Q

Thank you for your ministry. Your site is great, and I find that I agree with almost everything that you write. I am, however, having a problem with your explanation of the Rich Man and Lazarus. There is nothing in the story that tell us that the rich man was a bad man, or did bad things. His only sin seems to be that he was rich. Lazarus, on the other hand, isn’t portrayed as a good man, just a poor man. Abraham tells the rich man that his sin was being rich while he was alive, and Lazarus is rewarded because he was poor. If the rich man was being punished for being rich – why wasn’t Abraham also being punished for being rich?

The Full Armor Of God

Published: October 14, 2015
Q

I have recently come back to the Lord after being away for 15 years. Now I’m so hungry for Him, for His word, and for the fellowship of other Christians. He guided me to a church family where I can be filled, and I’m very thankful, especially for His wonderful grace.

In the meantime, I struggle almost every single day, with my emotions, with doubt, feelings of unworthiness, trying to live out my faith. According to Ephesians chapter 6, we are to be strong in the Lord….etc. and put on various pieces of spiritual armor. How do we do this?

When Did Day And Night Begin?

Published: October 14, 2015
Q

The Bible says in the first day God says let there be light and there was light and on the fourth day God created the sun and the moon paving way for day and night.Does it mean that there was no day and night during the first three days of creation?

Praying Continually

Published: October 14, 2015
Q

Referring to 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Paul states that we are to “pray continually” (NIV). Surely he didn’t mean that we’re to have our heads bowed and praying endlessly for 24/7. Would a better interpretation possibly mean that we should continually remain in a mindful state of prayer?

Seeking The Kingdom Of God

Published: October 14, 2015
Q

What does seek the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness mean? I am struggling with the true meaning of this statement and how it applies to everyday life. Is it simply seeking the Lords will in daily living or is it more than that? I never think of myself as righteous no matter how much I could try to be. My salvation is through God’s Grace alone which is a gift that can never be earned.
