Is Self Defense OK?

Published: July 15, 2015
Q

I am currently taking a course in self defense.  Unfortunately this has set up a conflict in my mind regarding the violence required in some situations (some to protect others) and what I understand to be the teachings of Christ.  Give me some guidance here regarding these matters.

Death Before Sin?

Published: July 14, 2015
Q

I was watching a debate between a believer and an unbeliever about the young earth and old earth scenarios. At one stage they were debating whether plants died before Adam sinned.  The unbeliever argued that the Bible is wrong in saying that death only came into the world after Adam sinned.  His argument was that when Adam and Eve ate the plants, it killed them.   Would the dying of a plant be seen as death?

What If It’s Not Pre-Trib?

Published: July 14, 2015
Q

I believe in the pretrib rapture but I was wondering,  would it be possible that if the rapture is not pretrib, and fundamental believers are disappointed by being in the trib, that they will apostasize and that is the great falling away? I hope I am being just a worry wort and too sensitive to the bad things that are happening. Is this even a valid theory? has anyone else raised this question?

The Rapture In 1 John 3:2

Published: July 14, 2015
Q

I’ve never observed 1 John 3:2 before in the context of the Rapture. “When He appears, we shall be like Him…” Sounds to me just like the translation of living believers in 1 Thess 4 and 1 Cor 15. Those who see Him at His 2nd Coming will certainly behold Him as He is–but, will not be translated into His likeness. Your thoughts ?

One more question, please ! Do you equate the ISIS buildup as prelude to the imminence of the Psalm 83 battle ?

Before The Beginning

Q

What form did Jesus have before the world began and even before that…before God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) created Angels and possibly even Heaven?  Was Heaven created for the Angels and the Earth for man?

What Did Satan Actually Know?

Published: July 14, 2015
Q

You’ve said that Satan didn’t know God planned on Jesus being put to death for our sins or he would have done everything in his power to stop it. Isaiah 53 is a prophecy of Jesus’s payment for our sins, so how is it possible that Satan didn’t know God’s plan of redemption prior to the Crucifixion? Didn’t he read the Bible?

No Longer Consciously Sin?

Published: July 14, 2015
Q

I recently got into a very bad argument with someone who told me that they no longer consciously sin which threw me off. I brought up 1 John 1:8, but they said that I was wrong about my use of the verse. They got upset when I brought up something they had done to me in the past and essentially called me a liar because they no longer consciously sin and  wouldn’t have done that.  Is it really possible to no longer consciously sin?

About The Judgment Day

Published: July 13, 2015
Q

What if there was a married couple that began using hard drugs.Over time,in order to support their habit, they committed all types of crimes.

Eventually, the wife gets saved and sincerely changes. They both die.On judgment day, while the wife will be spared judgement and the shame and embarrassment of having her life replayed, the husband will not.

Now even though the wife is saved, will  her indiscretions be shown during the husbands judgment, when that together they sinned? Or will her face/image be blocked out, since she accepted JESUS?

The Inspiration Of Scripture

Published: July 12, 2015
Q

Re: Inspiration of Scripture.  We often hear people claiming this confidently but is there really a verse that really claims that the entire Bible is the word of God?   2 Tim. 3: 16 speaks along those lines but to me it refers more to Old Testament scriptures rather than all other scriptures, because much 0f the New Testament hadn’t been written yet. What are your views on this?
