Why Can’t I Forgive Her?

Published: May 20, 2014
Q

Once again, I need your advice. I wrote a few months back about forgiveness after a bad break up. Now that the “shock” of it all has settled down, I find myself in a new “phase” of recovery. It seems I’ve allowed my resentment towards her drag me down to defeat. There are times when I think I’ve forgiven her, then there are times I feel anger and hurt all over again. I really want to forgive her for my own sake, but something within just won’t let it happen. I just want to be able to move on. When I think I’ve let go, it seems like it grabs me again.

Will God Punish Them For Me?

Published: May 19, 2014
Q

I read one of your articles on forgiveness and you told someone to forgive the person for what they did to them. You said to not worry about getting revenge for what they did, because God would take care of it for them. Did I understand that correctly? If you forgive a person who did you wrong, will God will punish that person for hurting you?

Is Satan Being Restrained?

Published: May 19, 2014
Q

I need some clarification on an issue that is confusing to me. You have stated that Satan in in charge of the world at the present. I agree, but isn’t God in His sovereignty setting limits on the Tempter’s actions? In a sense isn’t that what the Holy Spirit is doing in His role as restrainer? I would think He stops mankind from going too far as well. Am I looking at this correctly?

The Church And The Bride

Published: May 19, 2014
Q

I have truly been blessed through your ministry, and find the information on your website very helpful in my walk with God. please help me understand the difference between the Church and the bride of Christ. Apparently, some think there is a difference between the two. They say faith in Jesus does save us… but to attend the wedding (i.e. get caught up in the rapture to meet Jesus) we must complete the mission God has for us. I just want clarification because I do want to live a life pleasing to the Lord.

Will God Be Disappointed In Me?

Published: May 18, 2014
Q

I have a brother, with whom I was extremely close for 25 yrs. When he got addicted to drugs he was no longer the brother I knew and loved. He turned into an abusive, irresponsible, malingerer and I inherited all of his responsibilities in life, including his daughter and animals. Finally, two years ago, when he was verbally abusive to my husband I had had enough and have not spoken to him since.

Although I know I can’t welcome him back into my life, I feel responsible for his soul because he’s not saved and I’m not trying to help him. He is always high, so I couldn’t get through to him even if I wanted to. I am wondering if God is going to be disappointed in me for not continuing to try to save his soul?

Receiving The Holy Spirit

Published: May 18, 2014
Q

We are having a bit of disagreement in our Bible Study. In John 20:22, Jesus blew unto his disciples with the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:4 his disciples received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Is this the same thing, though it happens in different times and places?

Millennial Man

Published: May 18, 2014
Q

During the Great Tribulation the Holy Spirit will act in the same manner he did during the Old Testament.. What will be the role of the Holy Spirit during the Millennial period? And for that matter can or will people get saved during this period? Or not, because Satan is bound therefore there is no evil?

Do We Have To Believe Jesus Is God?

Published: May 18, 2014
Q

Thanks for sharing your knowledge of scripture with us. My question is: there are more than a few who believe that you do not have to believe that Christ is God (Son of God) in order to be saved. I know that Scripture teaches that faith in the Cross and what Christ did on that Cross alone is what saves, but is belief in Christ as God part and parcel to having saving faith?

The Time Of Restoration

Published: May 16, 2014
Q

When Jesus comes back and returns the world to perfection, do you think he will cause all evidences of the current worlds infrastructure, such as building, highways, etc. to disappear? No modern power grids, transportation systems, everything as it was when Adam was alive? Or do you think there will be evidences of the world’s previous situation? If the seas are dried, then it wont serve up images of the past that were covered by water? And without boats and planes how would people travel to celebrate the feasts, as will be required?

Problems With Future Father-In-Law

Published: May 16, 2014
Q

I really, cannot stand my soon to be father-in-law. I have no respect for him as a man, he wasn’t around for my fiance when she was little, her aunt and uncle had to raise her. He doesn’t speak his mind, he only whines about things after the fact. Being seen in public with the man is always embarrassing as his hygiene is suspect and he always manages to slop food on his shirt. I try to have compassion for this guy, but his life is the culmination of his own stupid mistakes.

My fiance still cares for him, and for her sake I put up with him; but we are hoping to move to Texas by next year and she sent chills up my spine when she told me that her dad would probably follow us down there. That might be more than I can bear. At least up here, her uncle does everything for him, down in Texas that responsibility would fall to me. How do I get past my loathing and resentment toward him? If he doesn’t care enough to take charge of his own life, why should we do it for him? I know I should show more compassion; but even when I do, I am only doing it because I feel God expects it of me, not because I want to. How do I get over this?
