A Forgiveness Question
Published: February 22, 2014I read your articles online constantly. I’ve seen a number on forgiveness, and thought I had a good grasp of what the Bible teaches about it. I’m confused with what I’m hearing lately on television. It’s more than one source saying the same thing: “If you don’t forgive, then God won’t forgive you.” I ignored it at first, thinking it was a tie-in to a Prosperity Gospel marketing ploy, but now it has me wondering if I’ve missed something in my studies. Is there any scriptural basis to this statement? I can’t believe there is as I believe in OSAS, so my sins (including not forgiving someone) are forgiven, as I pray constantly that God would give me the ability to forgive the one who wronged me. Please let me know if I’ve missed something.
Did Jesus Preach To Spirits In Prison
Published: February 21, 2014Did Jesus visit the angels being held in prison during His time in the grave?
The Rainbow And The White Horse
Published: February 21, 2014I was listening to your commentary on Rev6 the other day and it was very cool (as usual). One thing maybe you could help me with. You mentioned that the “bow” of the white rider didnt have arrows. I find out in the Greek that this bow is actually translated/literated as “shooter” and is the only occurence of this word in the NT. It has been suggested that this bow is the “covenent confirmed with the many”. I can understand this to be so.
In Genesis, God’s rainbow is a covenant with the earth and man. A “bow of/with the rain” as it were Question: is there any grammatical corroboration in either Greek or Hebrew that can definitively connect the idea of “bow” with a “covenant” and not just a weapon?
Would He Make His Bride Suffer?
Published: February 20, 2014There is no scripture for my comment, but I have been thinking about pre/post trib rapture. I believe in pre trib because we are the Bride of Christ and I cannot believe He would allow His bride to go thru the tribulation. Would you have asked your bride to go thru something so terrible before your marriage?
Is Tithing Required?
Published: February 20, 2014The Pastor at the church we attend says that tithing is mandatory to be blessed by God and he also says very often that if you don’t tithe you will be cursed. I thought we were saved and blessed because of what Jesus did. Doesn’t God bless us because he loves us and we’re his children in spite of our performance in tithing?
The Financial Burden Is Too Heavy
Published: February 19, 2014God bless you with your website and your talent as a teacher. I have learned a great deal. A few years ago, I had a strong desire to own my own restaurant. To make a long story short, it did not do well. Our debts seem insurmountable, but my wife and I did not want to file bankruptcy, although it was very tempting. Some days, the burden seems so, so heavy. We do tithe monthly, and would like to do more, but there is nothing left. I have prayed for God to lighten our load many times. We have absolutely nothing left at the end of the month. What more can we do to find favor with our Lord, Jesus Christ?
Is The Believer Obligated?
Published: February 19, 2014Re: 1 Cor. 7:15. Does this verse mean that a believer is freed from the marriage bond if the unbelieving spouse leaves? I know there is much debate on this verse and the Greek word for under bondage.
A Holy Spirit Question
Published: February 19, 2014I have question involving the receiving the Holy Spirit. In John 20:22 it is said Jesus breathed on them and said “Receive the Holy Spirit” How is this different the the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2? Thank you for your insight.
Coming Food Shortages?
Published: February 19, 2014I hear rumors of coming food shortages because of the bad weather all over the US. They say to stock up on food, water, gas (if possible) and guns and ammo because there will be riots when the grocery stores run out. Do you think there is any truth to this? I know it will be like that after the Rapture but before? I know we are not suppose to store up treasure here on earth and not be frightened by whats to come. So do you think God sees us as weak, not trusting in him if we collect a few things just in case?
Time Span Of The Four Seals
Published: February 18, 2014I was re-reading your essay on Revelation, and I wonder…when the first four seals are to be opened, is there any indication that it will happen in rapid succession, or will there be a space of time to allow the realization of each event to sink in?
