Sin And The Law

Published: November 9, 2013
Q

Paul’s effort to communicate the coalition of the law and death becomes very difficult to a simple mind when he says : “for until the law sin was in the world , but sin is not imputed when there is no law. ” Roman 5:13 What does this mean and what is your take on this? Does it mean that those who lived sinful lives before the Law was given , lived guiltless in sin?

OSAS And Hebrews 10

Q

I have a question on Hebrews 10:26-29. I was brought up to believe in “once saved, always saved”, yet this scripture would make someone think that salvation could be lost.

“For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law will die without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace.”

I am new to your site, but you seem to have some pretty knowledgeable things to say. Please clear this one up for me.

Dan And The Anti-Christ

Q

I would like to hear your thoughts regarding Genesis 49:17-18 and how it relates (or “if” it relates) to Jeremiah 8:16-17. Are the two related, and if so do you believe that the Bible teaches that the Anti-Christ will arise out of the tribe of Dan?

Rev. 1:7. 2nd Coming Or Rapture?

Published: November 8, 2013
Q

You probably have already answered this question, but I’ll ask it again. Revelation 1:7, “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” In your understanding, is this passage of scripture referring to 1 Thes. 4:13, or 2 Thes. 1:7?

Falling Away Or Departure?

Published: November 8, 2013
Q

As you hinted at in your Feature Article, “The Great Apostasy” of 10-19-13, apostasy has been with the Church since it came into being at Pentecost almost 2,000 years ago. Because apostasy in the Church has been more the rule than the exception, don’t you think a more reasonable exegesis of 2 Thes. 2:3 would be a confirmation of the pre-trib rapture by using the word “departure” to translate the Greek word “apostasia”?

Eternal Security And Eternal Life

Published: November 7, 2013
Q

I hope you can help me settle something once and for all. I firmly believe in eternal security, but someone I know insists we can lose our salvation. She says the Bible does not say eternal “security” but says eternal “life”. I have given her plenty of evidence from God’s word and still she falls back on this. Eternal life and eternal security are the same to me. She’s looking for the specific word, “security”. How can I answer this particular point ?

There’s A New Day Coming. Follow Up

Q

I have just read your article “There’s a new day coming” and I am a bit confused. I thought it’s Michael the angel who protects the saved Jews in Petra, not Jesus. I recall reading that in one of the books of the major prophets. Michael is Israel’s guardian angel I believe?

Also, please help me to understand why the nations attack Jerusalem at the battle of Armageddon, I thought the anti-christ would be ruling from the temple? Do the world’s forces attack the anti-christ and in the process plunder Jerusalem or is it secular Israel they attack?

The State Of The Church

Published: November 6, 2013
Q

We hear of movements of the Spirit in Middle Eastern and Asian countries (albeit often underground) but we don’t seem to hear of these things in Europe. Since it seems as if we are following Europe’s lead, and will likely arrive at the same destination, do you foresee a somewhat underground movement (perhaps driven by apathy instead of persecution) of the Holy Spirit in America before the rapture and is there one in Europe now that is not being talked about much?

Was I Really Saved?

Published: November 6, 2013
Q

A friend of mine who is a pastor said his boy received Christ into his heart at 5 yrs. old. Is a person really capable of a sincere asking for salvation at this age?

Back around 1961 or 1962, I was 9 or 10 years old. I was baptized and I assume I made a confession of faith at that time although I don’t remember anything about what went thru my head at the time. All I knew was that I believed from “babyhood” on that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that I was a sinner. I knew that if I didn’t believe in Jesus, I would go to hell and I have always wanted to go to heaven when my time came.

I went to church every Sunday growing up but during my late teens and early twenties I stopped going. I was too busy having fun. When I was around 27 yrs old, it really hit me thinking about what God did and how badly I needed him. I was baptized again, but this time, it was because I knew I wanted to be.

Question. Was I really saved when I was 9 or 10 or was I actually unsaved all those years until I was around 27?

I have a 9 year old grandson who has asked Jesus to save him quite a few times since he was about 5 years old. He seems to be sincere during his little prayer time before bed. However, when in school, he gets into more than his share of trouble. Do you think he is really saved?

More “Three Questions” follow Up

Re: The Three Questions Of Matt. 24. After reading your article I’m wondering, can the parable of the 10 Virgins refer to Israel and not to the rapture of the church?
