What If we’re Wrong Again?
Published: December 25, 2007I know a lot of prophecy scholars use the general life span of 70 years for the countdown for all end time prophecy to be fulfilled which leads us to 2018 or 2037. But We are also told man can live up to 80 years if they are strong and God also limits our years to 120. I’m so scared of another false hope debacle.
So many people swore the end of this age would come by 1988 due to a generation lasting 40 years. They were obviously wrong. So what if 2037 passes? Will people start saying we were wrong again and it could at the latest be 2087 (1967 + 120 maximum lifespan)?
Understanding Revelation 17
Published: December 25, 2007The following passage is from Revelation 17.
“This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.”
The passage says that the 7 heads are 7 kings (kingdoms) which represent the 7 world empires (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greek, Roman, and the revived roman empire of the Anti-Christ). The passage then goes on to say that the beast who once was and now is not, which is describing the anti-christ is an 8th king. I cant quite figure this out. If the Antichrist and his government are counted as one of the seven, why is he then called an 8th king? Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.
Are The Dead Awake Or Asleep?
Published: December 24, 2007Last year we lost our only child to cancer. He was only 29. He trusted Jesus for salvation and on his tombstone is the wonderful, assuring verse, “absent from the body; present with the Lord.” But, I would love to know if my son is awake and enjoying his new life or is he simply sleeping? I’ve asked Jesus to give you the right answer for me. Thank you so much!
Will Babies Cry In The Millennium?
Published: December 24, 2007In the Millennial period there is not supposed to be any problem with sin as Satan will be locked up for 1000 years and then set free for a while. My question is during the time period that there is no sin will babies still cry when they are uncomfortable, like hungry or wet or cold? Isn’t the reason babies cry now because sin is a part of us from birth?
For instance, will there be any chance of illness or pain during this time? If we, the Church, will reign with Christ, on earth, doing different jobs, i.e. governing, teaching etc., without any sin in people’s lives why would they still need any help at all? No need for hospitals, nurses, doctors etc. I’m sure you see my point and am very interested in what you believe.
Earthquakes In Israel
Published: December 24, 2007I know there’s mention of a massive earthquake occurring in Revelation, so I’m wondering if recent realizations about the stability of the Dead Sea and Carmel Fault lines that both run under Israel could have any bearing on future events there?
The Purpose Of The Church
Published: December 23, 2007What do you think of denominations? I see the denominations as a divisive and counter to Jesus’ prayer in John 17. In this chapter Jesus is praying for unity for all the would believe. He obviously knew that the church would have a problem with this.
I don’t believe that there is necessarily a blue print laid out in Scripture for what a church is supposed to be, but there are examples. I am tired of churches being run like businesses with clever marketing schemes. I simply want the truth. I have a Bible degree, but have had a hard time of finding what the purpose/design of the church is. Anyhow, maybe you can give me some insight into.
Also, what does Biblical discipleship look like? Thanks.
Understanding Isaiah 58
Published: December 19, 2007Does Isaiah 58 refer to the modern church or past Israel? Does it have anything to do with reward that the church will receive (Crown)?
Four Horsemen, al Mahdi, Follow Up
Published: December 18, 2007Regarding your article, “The Four Horsemen, al Mahdi, and the Magnetic Polar Reversal,” I wanted to clear up some mistakes you have, regarding the issue of the Mahdi (while you are entitled to your view, it should be based on authentic and accurate information).
Firstly, the Mahdi in Islam has NO supernatural abilities or origins. He is a regular man born a regular birth with a regular life except that he will revive the religion. If you are getting this information from somewhere it is undoubtedly NOT from the majority school of thought. Rather it must be from a minority sect or those who claim to be from Islam.
Also, his descriptions of carrying a bow are also not founded in any authentic Islamic sources.
And a final and extremely important fact is that the Mahdi will be present before the anti-christ shows himself, and then during the Mahdi’s time the Anti-Christ will show himself. The Islamic sources clearly distinguish this fact, meaning Islam sets them apart as two unique entities.
Therefore I suggest if you want to discuss the truth of any matter, then you have to have TRUE information with you (ie accurate, authentic, and reliable information). I hope that at least you will clarify these points in the article you have posted. This is the least one could do for intellectual respect.
New Heavens And A New Earth
Published: December 18, 2007Thank you so much for your website. In the short time since I first discovered it, it has helped me tremendously.
Within the Olivet Discourse from Matthew 24:32-36, verse 35 states that “Heaven and earth will pass away…” I’m a bit confused in that the consensus seems to be that the earth and Heaven will remain into eternity. Is this wrong?
Daniel And The Nephilim
Published: December 15, 2007I was doing a study about the Nephilim and their possible return during the 7 year tribulation period and a couple of questions came to mind:
1) If the Nephilim are indeed revealed during the tribulation, when would this happen and what is a possible role for them?
2) I have seen Daniel 2:43 used as a passage that “proves” the Nephilim will make a return during the tribulation. However, I only see that hint in the KJV. The NIV says “…so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united…” which could mean simply that in the last days people will not agree with one another and there will be plenty of fighting between them. What does the actual Hebrew text translate to?
