Chariots And Horsemen?

Published: September 1, 2014 (Originally published: September 1, 2014)
Q

In a question about ISIS (the Islamic State) you referenced Daniel 11:40 which says in part, “The King of the North will storm against him with chariots, horseman, and many ships”. Will ‘chariots’ and ‘horseman’ be used in today’s technology world, so to speak, if this is speaking of the times we are in now?

Separated Forever?

Published: September 4, 2014 (Originally published: September 2, 2014)
Q

I want to thank you for clearing up a lot of questions for me. Here’s another one. I read your series called The End Times According to Ezekiel Part 7 and there’s something I don’t quite understand.

You are comparing the descriptions of the New Jerusalem with Jehovah Shammah. In the last two paragraphs you state that Heaven is the New Jerusalem where we will dwell with the Lord forever, while the Holy City on Earth is Jehovah Shammah where God will dwell in the midst of His people Israel forever. This sounds like we will be separated from the Jewish people forever in eternity . Can you clear this up for me?

The Israel Of God

Published: September 1, 2014 (Originally published: September 2, 2014)
Q

I was wondering if you could clarify for me what Paul was referring to in Galatians 6:16 when he said, “And as many as walk according to this rule [neither circumcision nor uncircumcision availing to anything], peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. I don’t know how many times I’ve read passed this and probably always switched it in my mind to be the “God of Israel.” But does this verse imply then that the church is in itself accounted as Israel in God’s eyes or is there something else to it? I’m aware that we as believers are grafted in as wild olive branches, but is that the same thing? Thanks so much for your help.

Counseling A Friend

Published: September 3, 2014 (Originally published: September 2, 2014)
Q

I have a Jewish friend, very intelligent, also quite moral — I have been praying for her and believe the Lord is working in her life, to bring her to a place where she will look to Him for answers. When I suggest that God loves her and is trying to get her attention by the situations in her life, she points to how moral she is and just doesn’t “get” it. She keeps asking “why, why, why?” I do not want to offend her with the responses you could give to a gentile, but might not be understood or appreciated by a Jewish person. Any suggestions?

Matt. 24:29 says that immediately after the end of the Great Tribulation the Sun will be darkened and the Moon will not give it’s light. How can that happen without everyone freezing to death?

The One World Religion. Follow Up

Q

Regarding your Q&A titled “Can Islam Really Become the One World Religion”, you stated in your answer that you believe that a great leader from the Islamic faith will emerge to restore peace and order. How can this future leader emerge from Islam since he’ll have no regard for any god including the god of Islam as it states in Daniel 11:37?

Praying to Satan?

Published: August 27, 2014 (Originally published: August 26, 2014)
Q

I recently read a book by an author who used to be a Satanist, where he said a Christian once came to him for help. Apparently, the Christian guy had been praying for relief from a situation, but nothing happened. So he decided to ask the devil for help instead. It got me wondering, what does God think of that? This man was praying for help and God didn’t help him, so I guess he caved because he couldn’t take the pressure anymore. Can you give me some answers on this topic?

Re: Rev. 11:19. This verse has puzzled me for some time, and with having heard/read that “the ark of His testament” resides under the Dome of The Rock in Jerusalem presently, I was wondering what are your thoughts on this verse?

It’s Not Just Semantics

Published: August 28, 2014 (Originally published: August 27, 2014)
Q

I have a question regarding this “sinner-righteous” position. In Romans, Paul makes it clear that we were sinners before Christ came into our lives. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 (“old things have passed away; behold all things are become new”, and then verse 21 (“…that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him”), it seems to me that we have been changed from actually being “sinners” to “sons of God” (many verses that I know you know!). So, is this just a semantics thing, or what? I know that I sin, but in Romans 7, Paul says that it is “sin in me” not “me” that is sinning. This difference makes all the difference, as I see it, in how we perceive ourselves; and this perception is affirming of Christ’s finished work on Calvary.
