The Deaths Of Ananias And Sapphira

Published: July 27, 2022 (Originally published: July 24, 2013)
Q

In the context of OSAS theory I would like to ask you why Ananias and Sapphira, who were husband and wife, instantly died while speaking lies before the disciples. Were not they within the fold of first century believers? Then, why they were not saved even after speaking lies?

OSAS, Really?

Q

Several times you’ve said we’re saved forever and nothing can change that. Doesn’t that mean that Christians are free to do whatever they want without fear of any consequences?

In light of what you mentioned at the end of your article, “What does the Bible say” part 2, do you have a study that covers what is said in 1 John 1:5-6?

More On OSAS And 1 Cor. 6:9-10

Published: February 28, 2014 (Originally published: February 28, 2014)
Q

I have problems with OSAS, because I believe that if a person chooses to live in deliberate sin, he has to repent of it before he can be raptured. For example, our daughter, who we believe was saved–she’d loved Jesus since age 3-4, was baptized by immersion-at her own request- at 8, wanted to be a missionary, going on 3 short-term mission trips–has become a liberal in every sense, is committed to a long-term lesbian relationship, considering herself married. We love her, of course, but have difficulty in believing she will go with us in the rapture of the church based on our understanding of 1 Cor. 6:9-10, which says in part that homosexuals cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Wouldn’t our daughter need a time of purification– with repentance– before she could inherit the Kingdom?

Q

I hope this question is not too complicated to answer, but I’ve noticed that, in general, non-charismatic fellowships believe in OSAS, and that charismatic fellowships don’t. I confess that I may simply have arrived at a wrong conclusion, but if I haven’t, any idea how or why this came to be?

OSAS and Rev. 2-3

Published: December 4, 2010 (Originally published: December 3, 2010)
Q

I had a question about your article on once saved always saved. You make some great points, but I’m confused because of the letters Jesus had John write to the 7 churches in Revelation. Over and over he tells them to repent or suffer some kind of punishment. Yet, they were saved…they were part of His church. How can this be?

Pre-Marital Sex

Published: August 14, 2014 (Originally published: August 13, 2014)
Q

A dear friend and I have become intimate. She & I are senior citizens, both of us are widows, and both of us have a strong faith in God. Is it considered pre-marital sex for us and therefor a sin for us ?? I have been very troubled by this and need an answer. I know what you say about OSAS.
