Women In The Church

Published: August 6, 2011 (Originally published: August 5, 2011)
Q

I have just read the posts regarding headcovering and it has raised a question in my mind. When I was born again, I was set free from sin by grace through faith. So why am I now being loaded down with rules set by men ie headcovering as an example. Christ did not teach that women had to cover their heads or that women could not teach or preach so far as I am aware. I am not saying that neither Paul nor Timothy did not have justification for what they said, but is there not a question of culture and just plain disrespect for others here? Please explain why our Lord treated everyone with love and respect including women and yet pastors/elders use these things to keep women quiet.

More About The Trinity

Published: August 8, 2011 (Originally published: August 7, 2011)
Q

Does each member of the Trinity have different attributes? Like as in is God the Father the most powerful? Did OT Jesus, earthly Jesus, earthly resurrected Jesus, and now heavenly Jesus have different Godly attributes? Growing up, I always prayed to Jesus, but I learned we are told to pray to God the Father. Do you imagine/envision God the Father in some sort of way when you pray? God the Father is an invisible spirit? Is that correct?

Simple Prayers

Published: August 26, 2015 (Originally published: August 7, 2011)
Q

Occasionally, some need or situation will arise and I’ll feel a real intense need to stop everything and pray. After a few seconds, that sense will vanish. Once when this happened I kept praying, but it felt forced. At this point, the scripture came to mind, “don’t keep babbling like a pagan, the father is not impressed with your countless words”. So I stopped and went back to reading my Bible. Can you help me with this, or share some insight?

Visible Resurrection Then Rapture?

Published: August 8, 2011 (Originally published: August 7, 2011)
Q

I just read a theory about the part of the Rapture that I have never heard before. I was wondering if you had heard about it and what your opinion is because I value your insight very much. I read on a site, that I usually trust, that meaning of “the dead will rise first” could possibly mean an earthly resurrection of them for the world to see? Could that be possible, that people would come back from heaven for a little while, before the rapture takes place? Thank you so much for all the questions you answer.

Unequally Yoked At The Rapture

Published: August 9, 2011 (Originally published: August 8, 2011)
Q

I was wondering about an odd thought that popped into my head this week. It’s about an unequally yoked married couple. Say the wife is saved and the husband is not. When the rapture occurs she’ll be taken away by Jesus while her husband is left behind. If he gets saved during the tribulation will they ever know about each other or see one another?

Did Jesus Mention The Rapture?

Published: July 26, 2011 (Originally published: July 25, 2011)
Q

I have always wondered if Jesus made an oblique reference to the Rapture during the Olivet Discourse in Mt. 24.28 and Luke 17:37. His statement about “where the body is, there the eagles gather” appears to be a direct reply to the disciples’ question about the whereabouts of the woman grinding grain who was taken (Lk 17.35). That verse’s parallel is ordered differently in Matthew (Mt 24.41), and no interjected question is mentioned, so the connection may be less apparent in Matthew. I have never been very satisfied with other explanations of Jesus’ remark about bodies and vultures, and I would like to think He was not totally silent about the Rapture in the Olivet context, even if He left it for Paul to tell us the mystery.

More On The Coming Temple

Published: July 29, 2011 (Originally published: July 28, 2011)
Q

How long do you think it will take to construct the temple once Israel decides they need one? I know there is some preparation underway even now, but won’t it take at least a year or two or three to construct such a grand structure? If they don’t begin construction until the beginning of the 70th week, it could be close to the middle of that week before it is completed. Will the Jews be able to use the temple before the Anti-Christ defiles it?

Before Or After The 70th Week?

Published: July 30, 2011 (Originally published: July 29, 2011)
Q

I read from 1 Cor 15:23 that there is an order to the resurrection. The first being Christ and then those who belong to Christ at His Second Coming. If so, then the rapture and resurrection of those who belong to Christ as depicted in 1 Thess 4 is supposed to happen at His Second Coming and not before that. Also, when Christ is to deliver us from the wrath to come, can it possibly mean the lake of fire (which is after the Second Coming and judgments) and not the wrath of the Lamb and of God depicted from Rev 6-15?

Judging The Nations

Published: November 21, 2014 (Originally published: July 31, 2011)
Q

I have a question concerning God’s judgement on nations. Given what Christ has done to redeem believers and that the Holy Spirit is in the world to convict of sin and to draw men to Christ, does God still judge nations in the Church Age as He did in the Old Testament? Or is judgement now reserved for the Tribulation period?

Why Is The Rapture Necessary?

Published: August 22, 2014 (Originally published: August 1, 2011)
Q

What part does the rapture play in saving us from the wrath of God, when we have already been saved from that wrath by doing what others refuse to do – Accept Jesus as our Savior. God’s wrath falls only on the un-saved who reject Christ so why would we have to be in heaven to be protected from his wrath when there would be no reason for his wrath to fall on us? God protected the children of Israel when he was pouring out his wrath on Egypt, can he not do this same today with his church?
