Why Can’t I Evangelize?
Published: January 8, 2007I am a totally born again, sold out to God Christian. I know in my heart that Jesus is coming back soon. I dream about being able to boldly witness to the many people that God puts on my heart but when the time comes I just lose courage. So what I do is pray for their salvation instead. I am so discouraged about this. I do not want to stand before the Lord and have Him say that since I was ashamed of Him, he is ashamed of me. I would appreciate your counsel and prayers about this.
Spirit And Truth
Published: January 30, 2008Where should a church be drawing the line in the use of visual arts in Christian worship?
Our worship director indicated that he is going to be bringing more visual arts into worship so that there are additional means for the range of worshipers to express themselves in worship since some make connections visually. He thinks our church is too focused on head knowledge and not enough on expressive worship.
When we came to Christ, we were thrilled to have a church where the Word of God of God and the Holy Spirit were the focus. One concern is whether the Word will be de-emphasized in any way through this move to the visual or the senses.
I don’t want to be overly dogmatic because I love expressive worship. I know we are cautioned about visual representations in worship through the second commandment. But honestly, I don’t know where the line should be drawn in this area. What are your thoughts?
The Providence Of God
Published: December 10, 2013I was recently reading about the Providence of God, and wondered what your view on it is ?
Seven Spirits Of God
Published: December 11, 2013I was listening to a christian call in show and a question was asked regarding these seven Spirits of God as to their identity. The pastor answered that he honestly didn’t know…but offered various spiritual attributes of The Lord…spirit of wisdom, etc.
I have studied Revelation and came away with their being seven angels. Revelation 5:6 says : “…in the midst…stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” In the beginning of Revelation, Jesus speaks of the “seven stars…and the seven golden candlesticks” which represent respectively the “angels” and the “churches” He would go on to address. So, I am asking you what The LORD has revealed to you about all of this.
Kings And Priests In The Heavenly Realms
Published: December 13, 2013I was curious to know if the Church will become God’s Government in Eternity. It seems to make a lot of sense since we are His Body. Also I wanted to know about the verse which speaks about us seated with Christ in Heaven. Is this verse saying we are actually at this point in time sitting with Jesus in spirit form in Heaven or that it will be at a later time in the future, or is this current or future recognition of our position with Christ in the spirit realm.
How Old Was Jesus When The Magi Arrived?
Published: January 15, 2008I thank the Lord for the joy that I always feel about your site. It is indeed blessed by the Holy Spirit because it makes us praise His glorious name always in the knowledge that we learned from your site.
I read one article from (another website) stating that our Lord Jesus was probably 2 years old or at least near to that age when the Wise Men arrived. The writer cited Luke and Mathew as a reference. Can you please explain further so that we can understand better?
What I understand before, a few days after Mary delivered our Lord Jesus, the wise men came and then a few days later they escaped to Egypt. But it contradicts to His dedication at the temple when He was 8 days old. Was He dedicated at the Bethlehem temple? Did they stay in Bethlehem long or return back? Did they return back to Nazareth after the dedication?
Does Might Mean Maybe?
Published: December 12, 2013Re: the word “might”. This word is used in some versions of the Bible as in,’that through Him we MIGHT be saved.’ There are many other examples, i.e. ‘that we MIGHT become the Sons of God’, etc. What is the exact meaning in these instances of the use of this word? Many believers that I know think that it God is saying that these are not solid promises because might, to them, means ‘MAYBE, or it’s possible, but that it is not a sure thing. How to explain??
How Will We Recognize Them?
Published: December 15, 2013How will we recognize our loved ones in heaven? Will they have the same facial looks that they had on earth? I know that they are spirits but I am a bit confused on this topic. We have spoken about this topic at work and no one really knows the answer!
Balancing What We Want With What Is Best
Published: December 15, 2015I know what I want in a wife, (besides looks) like a love for God, desire to raise children, and common mission. But, does the Bible say much about choosing? Where is the balance between what we want and what is best?
Forgiving And Forgetting
Published: December 14, 2015I believe in forgiveness even if an apology hasn’t been extended. How do I respond, without sounding pompous, to people who say they can forgive someone’s offense but they’ll never “forget”. I believe if we don’t let it go and forget it, we haven’t really forgiven and therefore still carry a burden of unforgiveness in our heart.
