Dual Covenant Theology

Q

Can you explain the two covenant theology and how it ties to classic dispensationalism? I have heard this mentioned several times, and not sure I clearly understand the implications.

Where Did The Gentiles Come From?

Published: January 13, 2020
Q

I truly thank God for your site. I read it every day. My question is where did the gentiles come from? The dictionary states that a gentile is a non Jew. OK, but who was the first gentile? Where did he come from? Why did God create the gentile? Is it because the Jews rejected Christ? Thank you.

Obeying Our Leaders

Published: January 13, 2020
Q

I very much appreciate your ministry. My question is regarding Hebrews 13:17. Who are those that have the rule over us? Would that be the pastor of our congregation or would that also include deacons and elders and associate ministers? How about ministers and leaders of other congregations? Since there is only one church, do they also rule over us? How does this verse relate to 1 Tim. 2:5? With apostasy in the church appearing everywhere, the answer is important.

Are Catholics Christian?

Q

I have been having this argument with my friend about how Catholicism is a denomination of Christianity. He thinks it is but I disagree because they don’t believe in Jesus as their savior. Am I on track with my thinking?

Sinning In The Moment Before Death

Published: January 10, 2020
Q

What if we are taken from this life before we have a chance to ask for forgiveness? Sometimes death comes suddenly. If during the course of the day we are tempted beyond our ability to resist and before we can come to a realization death beckons us? Are we forgiven?

Building Noah’s Ark

Published: January 10, 2020
Q

Where do people come up with the idea that it took Noah 120 years to build the Ark? If you read Genesis chapters 5 through 8 it plainly states that he was 500 when God told him to build it and Gen 8:11 states that in the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, they entered the ark and vs 16, the Lord shut him in. That’s 100 years, not 120.

Which Religion Came First?

Published: January 10, 2020
Q

I have a question that a friend of mine is arguing with me about. Which religion came first? I say it’s Judaism, followed by Christianity, and he says it’s Hinduism, followed by Judaism. Can you explain to me which religion came first and subsequently followed, and how they came about? Thank you.

Will Jesus Have Time For Us?

Published: January 9, 2020
Q

We have a question concerning how much we will be in the physical presence of Jesus after the Resurrection, in the Millennium. I say that there is only one Jesus who has a physical body and that that he can only be physically in one place at one time. My wife says, nonsense, He can do anything he wants and be physically present in many places.

I also maintain that the Lord will be very busy ruling planet Earth and won’t have time for sort of thing that some of the hymns talk about–walking and talking with Him one on one, physically. I say that it will be possible to see Him, but that will be most likely great convocations. He, of course, will be available by prayer in spirit, but will probably be spending most of His time with the rulers and great saints of yesteryear and today.

Is God Shutting Me Out?

Published: January 9, 2020
Q

I am a working mother of 1 and planning on having another baby. When my daughter was born I felt like God wanted me to stay home but my decision to quit dragged on and on because every time I was about to quit something would happen to keep me from quitting. About a year ago I felt like God was telling me that if I am faithful and take care of my family then He will take care of my husband’s promotion. Well, when I was preparing to quit my husband changed his mind because he wants to get the promotion first before I quit. After applying for at least 10 positions now he still hasn’t gotten any promotion.

I keep wondering if our disobedience and lack of faith brought this on. I am scared of being “just a stay at home mom” but at the same time, I’m not happy being a working mother. I am so unhappy that I constantly lose control of my emotions at home. I pray and read the bible but I feel like God is shutting me out.

The Lampstand And The Lamp

Published: January 9, 2020
Q

Some believe that the Church will have been raptured by the beginning of Revelation 4. In Revelation 1:20 it describes the Seven Lampstands as being the Seven Churches. Then Chapter 4 mentions that there are Seven Lampstands with burning flames present in front of the Throne and that they are the Seven Spirits of God. The Seven Lampstands are first described as The Seven Churches and then we are told that they are The Seven Spirits of God. Can you explain these things?
