Restoring Our Fellowship With God
Published: April 26, 2017In your commentary on Psalm 121 you discussed the benefit of confession. With the many ways human religion has clouded this issue, would you clarify the Biblical view of confession? Exactly what is required to restore my fellowship with the Lord? What about the sins of thought that we might forget about? Do we have to remember each sin in order to ask forgiveness? Or is asking to be forgiven from all sins sufficient? Thank you for your help in this matter!
The Great Sabbath Debate
Published: April 26, 2017I was raised a Protestant, have Messianic Jewish friends and have attended their services and they are on Saturday. How can the Christian Church and the Jewish (Messianic) people have such a difference?
We should be on the same page. Please explain if you can. Thank you and God Bless.
Did God Condone Cannibalism?
Published: April 26, 2017Can you help me with understanding this verse or the larger context? A friend of mine claims that some bible versions endorsed cannibalism.
Lev 26:29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
Rapture Before Wrath
Published: April 21, 2017As always. thank you for what you do! I have been hearing alot of people lately say that they subscribe to the “pre-wrath” view of the rapture. How does this differ from the pre-trib view? If you disagree with this view can you tell me why you do scripturally.
I have heard that the pre-wrath view takes the stance that the rapture not happening before Revelation 6 is to purify the church. Why would this generation have to go through more “cleansing” than any other to be saved?
Cities Of Refuge
Published: April 21, 2017Peace and grace to you and yours. I have been studying in the book of Joshua and I came across the part where God tells Joshua to make six cities for those who have accidentally killed someone and they can go to one of these cities to seek refuge from the avenger. Topically, I understand this. What I’m wondering is if there is a deeper meaning to it. I know that (a well known bible teacher) says if you come across some scripture that is confusing to put Christ in the center of it. Is there something going on with these six cities other then just the idea of a ” safe house” for those Israelites seeking shelter until they can prove their innocence? As always, thanks for your efforts. God bless.
Tombs Broken Open
Published: April 21, 2017I have a question about the Rapture. I know “the dead in Christ shall rise first”,according to the Scriptures, but I’m wondering if this is a physical resurrection or a spiritual one? In other words, will unsaved people be able to see graves in the cemetary disturbed because Christians who have been dead and buried have gone to be with the Lord? Or do you think it will be more of a quiet, spiritual resurrection?
Suffering In Hell
Published: April 20, 2017My question is this, yesterday night a minister on TV said that Jesus had to go to hell and suffer as a sinner would. I know that the cross is much deeper than what we have made it out to be, but I am not sure about this doctrine or teaching mentioned by this TV minister. I know that our Lord had to suffer (more than we will ever comprehend) but where in scripture is it mentioned that our Lord had to suffer in hell? I know what Matthew 12:40 says but it does not say that He had to suffer there.
1 Peter 3: 18-19 says that Jesus went and preached to the spirits in prison. Scriptures like Ephesians 4:8-9 and Colossians 2:15 speak of a victorious Lord, I don’t get the suffering Jesus teaching, is it scriptural? Lastly Jesus said on the cross IT IS FINISHED!
Life In The Kingdom
Published: April 20, 2017I’ve been studying ALL the millennium articles on your site, since my husband and I keep coming back to it in conversations ….. he’s reading the latest Tim LaHaye book “The Kingdom Come- the Final Victory” …. I have not read it yet, but it seems by the bits and pieces my husband has shared with me, that it is more fiction than scriptural… HOWEVER, it has precipitated much conversation ! Hence my studying all your articles — since I trust your teachings.
One of our questions is : what will we (the raptured church ) be doing for one thousand years? I can’t believe we’ll be walking the golden streets and praising the LORD only? (Although that will be great!) My understanding is that we will all have jobs to do … but will the “jobs” involve the things we did here on earth (i.e.: I was a registered nurse– so probably that particular skill won’t be needed , since we have Jesus, the trees that have healing leaves, and rivers with healing waters.)
Or will the “jobs” involve our spiritual gifts more ? (i.e.: my gifts involve intercessory prayer, exhortation, and teaching) Who will I pray for or teach, since we’ll all be “completed” saints?
What are your thoughts and what do the scriptures say, if anything?
The Sins Of The Fathers
Published: April 20, 2017I was reading in my devotions and came across Deuteronomy 24:16, “Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.” And it made me recall in 2 Samuel 12 when the son of David and Bathsheba died as a result of their sin. I was just wondering how that comes together. Any help is always appreciated.
The Lord’s Life In Time
Published: April 18, 2017I enjoy your website and appreciate the time you put into it.
My interest was piqued earlier this week to look deeper into our Lord’s birth and Crucifixion. From what I can tell, based upon Matt 2, Jesus was born in 6/5 BC based upon Herod’s death in 4 BC. Is this your understanding? Luke 3:23 tells us that Jesus was around 30 when He began His ministry. If Jesus was baptized in 29 AD, then Jesus would have been around 34. How do you reconcile Luke with Matt? Does around 30 include the possibility that He was 34 or so?
