Did Jesus Drink Wine?
Published: June 5, 2016I had a discussion about Jesus and wine drinking with a fellow sister-in-Christ today. She said that Jesus did not actually drink alcoholic wine, but only ‘fruit of the vine’. And that since wine is alcoholic and therefore is inebriating, Jesus would not drink that and neither should we. So, my question is, Did Jesus drink alcoholic wine or not?
Pouring Myself Into Another
Published: June 5, 2016My questions is this. How do I pour myself onto others as Paul did? He loved them and poured himself into them, showing the Love of Christ. I want to do this with my friends, but I don’t know where to start. I’ve been friends with them for so long and now I’m deciding to change my ways with Christ and provide a good example for them. They are not believers and my greatest hope for them is if they each found Christ. How do I pour myself into them to help bring them towards Christ?!
Should I Have Contact With Atheists?
Published: June 3, 2016I have a question concerning Atheists & contact with such individuals. I know a few people (co-workers) who are confessed Atheists. I however believe in GOD and his son Jesus Christ, I also attempt to live my life in a righteous manner, I’m not perfect, but when speaking with people (The Atheists included) I make sure I give GOD thanks for all the blessings that I am given. From the time I found that these folks did not believe in GOD I placed my bible on top of my desk for all to see simply because I want them to know first that I am a believer & secondly I have nothing to hide and do not feel ashamed & thirdly I feel really uncomfortable with them (Atheists) sitting behind or beside me. I don’t trust people whose only true belief is that there is no GOD.
My question is: Should I still have contact with such people or keep it to a minimum because I do have to work with these folks after all. Quite frankly people who don’t believe in God scare me, & I don’t want to be around them. Am I wrong, or misguided, is there a scripture I can read to help me better understand?
Praying For Our Enemies
Published: June 1, 2016The Bible tells us to pray for our enemies. Please tell me how I can pray for someone for whom I have no trust or respect? When I try to pray, my words are flat, my heart is cold and my feelings go against everything in the prayer. God knows my heart. He knows that I am not sincere. What does God expect from a simple human? Please help me understand how I am to obey this difficult instruction from my Father.
1 Peter 2:9 And Replacement Theology
Published: June 1, 2016How do you answer someone who believes Israel has been replaced by the Church and uses 1 Pet. 2:9 to support his position?
Why Is Samson Among The Faithful?
Published: June 1, 2016I’m a little confused why Samson is mentioned in Hebrews 11:32-34. As I reread the account in Judges, it seems to me that his life was anything but a walk in faith. I can’t recall a single incident in his life where he did what he knew was right according to his faith. He defiled himself from the moment when he touched a dead lion to the point of sleeping with the prostitute and revealing the secret of his strengh to Delilah. Even the motivation for his final moment when he killed his enemies in the temple was revenge. He was a poor judge and a failure as a Nazirite. Why is he mentioned among the faithful? What does Samson mean?
Events At Crucifixion
Published: June 1, 2016I recently watched a program regarding the Crucifixion that triggered a question that I have wondered about many times but never received a satisfactory answer. My understanding is that the veil in the temple was several inches thick from decades of repairs with animal skins. So, it had to be a phenomenal event that defied explanation when it ripped in half at Christ’s death. Is there any info in Jewish historical writings as to how the temple leadership (that denied Jesus) explained this as well as the 3 hours of darkness mid-day and earthquake?
Elisha’s Bones
Published: June 1, 2016In 2 Kings 13:21 there is a dead man who is being buried near the grave of Elisha. As he is being buried, a marauding band attacks, and somehow this dead man’s body gets thrown into the grave of Elisha. As soon as the man’s body touched the bones of Elisha, he was revived and stood on his feet. Why would this kind of resurrection power remain in Elisha’s bones well after he had died?
Studying Prophecy. Follow Up
Published: May 31, 2016I just read your fabulous article (The Best Reason To Study Prophecy) and you were talking about studying one hour a day to become an expert. My question to you is if you would please give an example as to how you began your study in prophecy, for example did you read a verse and then read bible commentaries on the verse or did you read a book other than the Bible? And how did you know that people you learned from were not false teachers? If you’re just a baby Christian how can you discern?
Gospel Of The Kingdom Or Gospel Of Peace?
Published: May 30, 2016The “Gospel of the Kingdom” is mentioned in Matthew 4: 23 , 9:35 , and 24:14. The “Gospel of Peace” is mentioned in Romans 10:15, and Eph 6:15. Do you think one is more for the Church age of Grace, and possibly the other more for the tribulation period? I’m really enjoying your website.
