Was There A Pre-Adamite Race?

Published: February 4, 2015
Q

I have a friend who believes and teaches about preadamites. It isn’t that theory itself bothers me, as much as the idea that comes from it. The bible clearly says that Adam was the first man, and that through him (Adam) was sin and death brought into the world. If a race was already here and God destroyed it, wouldn’t that make these verses in the bible untrue? He teaches that this race happened between Gen 1:1, and Gen1:2 during the Gap Theory. Any biblical thoughts would be more than appreciated, thank you.

Who Were The Thieves and Robbers?

Q

I am a bit confused on John 10:8-10. Does the verse refer to prophets like Elisha, Moses, John the baptist etc? Who were the thieves and robbers who came before Jesus?

Still More On 6,000 Years Or 4.5 Million

Published: February 4, 2015
Q

you state that “God said He created both the animal kingdom and mankind in a single day about 6000 years ago” (Genesis 1:24-31) I can accept that man etc was created in one day, but where in the Bible are we told that it was 6000 years ago. I have always believed that this is based on the various genealogies listed in the early books of the bible, but I also understood that some of these genealogies are not necessarily complete. I would be interested in reading your thoughts on how the 6000 years have been calculated.

Confronting And Convicting

Published: February 3, 2015
Q

I met a Muslim girl who attends a great Baptist college here in the US. She expressed to me that she is Muslim, but was having spiritual issues. She came to this university hoping to resolve them, but is still Muslim after attending this university for three years. I told her that I believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, she just looked at me and nodded her head. I felt ashamed because I just dropped it. Please give me words/ scriptures that I can quote to get her attention. I need to know to “hook” her to read the Bible. We really are strangers, but she keeps popping up in my mind. I do not want to lose her!

Making Atonement For The Tabernacle

Published: February 3, 2015
Q

Lev 16:16 refers to the need to cleanse all the sins in the sanctuary by making an atonement on the day of atonement. Are these the sins that were transferred daily through the lamb sacrifices? How did these sins get into the sanctuary or did OT sanctuary service operate according to a substitute model where sins were transferred to the lamb, and from it to the sanctuary?

Who Should We Pray To?

Published: February 3, 2015
Q

I’ve recently been noticing more people praying to Jesus and/or the Holy Spirit during public prayer times. This doesn’t make sense to me since Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Our Father…” No where else in the Bible do I see prayer being directed to anyone else except God the Father. Just wondering if I am missing something or there is Biblical warrant for what I have essentially assumed for most of my life?

Just Because We Believe

Published: February 3, 2015
Q

Is the fact that we “believe without seeing” the only reason the Church is the most blessed “group” in all humanity? Is our faith the reason that God only granted to us salvation that we can’t lose and declared us the most blessed group, or there are any other reasons?

The King Of Israel

Published: February 3, 2015
Q

In the Old Testament, it seems to be clear from the beginning of Israel’s existence that God had ordained them to be ruled by judges. Only after the Hebrews’ vainglorious whining and their envy of other nations, did God acquiesce by allowing them to be ruled by a king: hence Saul, Israel’s first king.

For what reason would God’s Master Plan redeem mankind–in the future– in the person of a “king”? Why would God not send the Messiah for the Jews into the world in the re-instituted capacity as Israel’s “judge”? It seems this would have been bringing His will back to the forefront for Israel and, as well as, admonishing them for wanting something that God didn’t want them to have in the first place.

Already Experienced The 5th Trumpet Judgment?

Published: February 2, 2015
Q

I read an opinion that we have already experienced the first five trumpets and are awaiting the sixth which will bring about the Rapture. This person believes the timeline follows proper interpretation of Daniel 11 and understanding the trumpets. He says he is pre trib but delineates from regular views.Have you heard or read anything about this?

More On 6,000 Years Or 4.5 Million

Published: February 2, 2015
Q

Re: 6,000 Years Or 4.5 Million. I believe the Bible says the earth and whole creation is approximately 6,000 years old. I heard one Bible teacher explain that miraculous creation implies age. In other words, if God created a 30 year old man 10 minutes ago, that man would be both 10 minutes and 30 years old at the same time, and that explains tens of thousands of years old fossils, etc. in an earth that is only 6,000 years old. That’s the best and most logical (to me) explanation I’ve heard explaining prehistoric discoveries. Is there another or better one Biblically speaking?
