Standing In The Way. Follow Up

Published: July 19, 2012
Q

In your recent article Standing In The Way you said 1 John 3:2 means it’s impossible to know in any detail the kind of life we’ll be living after the rapture. You said all we know for sure is that it’s beyond our imagining, and quoted Paul as saying, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Cor. 2:9). If you would continue reading you would see that verse 10 says “God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.” We do know what God has prepared for us, though not fully, to be sure. I agree that it is beyond our imagination. But he has revealed it.

Why Doesn’t He Save Everyone?

Published: July 17, 2012
Q

If God is not willing that any should perish, how come all are not chosen before the foundation of the world? In order for someone to come into the family of God, He needs to draw them to Him, but He does not draw/save everyone. I am not questioning God. Just trying to better understand His word!!

Bible Commentary

Q

Can you recommend a Bible commentary? The last one I bought, I ended up throwing it out because it was written by the replacement theology people. I’ve been reading but I want to study. Thank you so much. I have been thanking God because He has sent you to help us. Your Bible studies are invaluable.

What About God’s Chosen People? Follow Up

Published: July 15, 2012
Q

Regarding “What About God’s Chosen People” I am confused about what you mean by this phrase ” If they survive they’ll be judged just after the 2nd Coming and sent off the planet.” Are these Jewish unbelievers not sent to Hades along with Gentile unbelievers, or is there a separate place “off the planet” that I am not aware of. Thanks for clearing this up for me.

Can’t We Just Sleep Together?

Published: July 14, 2012
Q

I am a divorced woman who was saved about a year ago. My boyfriend is also a divorced believer. We have not enjoyed physical intimacy, but we do have a loving and passionate relationship. We both love the Lord and want to be obedient to His Word.

We feel torn between the desire of the flesh and being obedient and don’t know how to deal with it. We love each other deeply and want to stay together. We live in separate homes, but my boyfriend stays with me on the weekends. I insist that we can sleep together without sex and still please the Lord. My boyfriend disagrees. He thinks the only solution is to get married, but we are not ready yet. What is your opinion?

Was Damascus Destroyed Once?

Published: July 14, 2012
Q

Is there a double fulfillment for the Oracle against Damascus? As my commentary, Believers Commentary by Wm. MacDonald, says the one in Is. 17 has been fulfilled. He says Damascus was destroyed by the Assyrian armies in 732 BC and Samaria fell ten years later. I was surprised when I read this as you hear a lot about Damascus being destroyed, ala Isaiah 17.

Understanding Rev. 22:11

Q

What are your thoughts on the angel’s instructions to John in Revelation 22:11: “Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy.”

What About God’s Chosen People?

Published: July 13, 2012
Q

I have been trying to put my own chronology together with the end times events starting with the battle of Psalms 83 and then Ezekiel 38 & 39. I think I have the events figured and the disposition of the Gentiles both saved and unsaved. What is confusing to me is the disposition of God’s People, the Jews. I know the saved ones who have accepted Christ will be with all the Church in the Rapture and those who are not saved will go through the Tribulation, but what happens to the Jews after that, both saved and unsaved.

Rev. 6 And Matt. 24

Published: July 13, 2012
Q

Many believe that the first six seals in Revelation 6 are the beginning of God’s judgments on the Earth and it’s inhabitants. Others believe the seals are an overview of things “that must happen” before the second coming. Comparing the sixth seal to Matthew 24:29-31, these signs are what will occur just before the return of Christ, which is at the end of the Tribulation period. What is your take on this issue?

Does 1 Cor. 6:9-10 Deny OSAS?

Published: July 12, 2012
Q

On the surface it looks like 1 Cor. 6:9-10 is stating that there are sins that could take our salvation away. Will people who rate those titles, perform those actions, or walk those lifestyles not be admitted to heaven? Or is there some other truth in that passage? If so, what is this passage really trying to tell us?
