Jesus And The Rapture

Published: December 15, 2011
Q

In John 14:3, when the Lord says He will come again to receive us unto Himself, it sure seems like He’s referring to the rapture. Since He’s speaking to believers, it can’t be His Second Coming that He’s talking about because we (His church) have to be received before He comes about seven years later. Do I have this correct?

An Invented People?

Q

Newt Gingrich stated recently that the Palestinians are an ‘invented’ people. Are they Arabs as all the surrounding countries or do they have a particular ethnicity that links them uniquely to Palestine?

A Cup Of Trembling. Follow Up

Q

I have always been of the opinion that the Psalm 83 war will come before the Ezekiel 38/39 war. If this is the case then Iran should not be in the war that is about to break upon Israel, as Iran is not mentioned in Psalm 83. I agree Iran’s proxies will fight, but not Iran herself. Maybe, therefore, the naval fleets building up in the Mediterranean will be sufficient to keep Iran out of this war but allow her proxies to go full on with Israel?

The Four Winds

Published: December 13, 2011
Q

What do you think it means in Matt. 24:31, and Revelation 7:1, when it speaks of “the four winds’ of the earth? The angels gather the elect from the four winds and from heaven. And the four angels at the four corners of the earth will hold back the four winds. What do you think is meant by ‘the four winds?’ And, more importantly, why would the elect be in those four winds?

Problems In Europe

Published: December 13, 2011
Q

I was wondering what you think about what is happening in Europe right now. Europe might be splitting up into a smaller group, and countries might go back to their previous currencies (before the Euro). I know Europe has a big part to play in the end of times. What does the Bible say about the strength of Europe in the end of times?

Are Detention Camps Coming?

Published: December 11, 2011
Q

What do you think of the news reports that FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) has recently put out requests for bids on building temporary detention camps in all 50 states. I heard these camps have to be capable of housing and feeding from 300-2000 detainees for up to 30 days.

You Should Ask Her. Follow Up

Q

Re: You Should Ask Her. I was dumbfounded by your statement, ” I know that some liberal denominations teach we should only pray to the Father in the name of the Son. That didn’t make any sense to me until I learned they don’t really believe in the deity of Jesus”. How do you balance this with the model prayer Jesus gave the disciples in Matthew 6? As a devout follower and believer in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, I always offer my prayers and petitions to the Father and conclude always in the Holy, precious, wonderful and majestic name of Jesus my Lord and Savior.

Is Make Up Forbidden?

Published: December 10, 2011
Q

In the church I attend makeup is taboo, but I have always liked to use a little in my grooming. I do know there are a couple of scriptures that talks about the wanton eyes, etc. And there is the matter of Jezebel. I know makeup can be used for the wrong thing but is there anything in the Bible that forbids the use of makeup? Or does it fall under just using common sense or a control issue? This has been a controversy in the church for a long time. My husband says if I wear it, I am not following church government and I am not in line with the rest of the church. Can you help me?

Defending The Bible

Published: December 10, 2011
Q

How does one defend the faith of the Bible when it is not taken literally, when someone doesn’t accept the divinity of Christ, hell and eternal punishment, Christ’s substitutionary Atonement, His Miracles, the Virgin Birth, and probably doesn’t even acknowledge OT and prophecy? Also some of my friends believe all manner of false teachers could be saved because we can’t really know about a man’s so called ‘last moments’. How do I argue this? Of course I don’t know about anyone ‘s last moments but this seems to open a very wide door excusing false teachings and doctrines and gives false hope to the person’s family.

How Could They Not know?

Published: December 9, 2011
Q

I just have a quick question. What did Jesus mean when He said He’d come at a time when we least expect it, when because of the signs all around us we expect Him at any moment, don’t we?
