What has caused so much hatred for Israel? Why do so many countries want to attack and destroy her? It seems that this has been the case for many, many years and I just wonder when it all started.

My husband is a Christian but yet he is constantly bad-mouthing me to his friends and letting his friends call me some pretty terrible names. He also is constantly discussing our marital business with them. Is there anywhere in the Bible that says this is wrong? If so, could you please give me some scriptures on this?

Re: May 21 rapture and judgment. It boggles my mind how a whole community of Christians who claim they study the Bible earnestly and sincerely can come away with such twisted and distorted views of the end times. I would really like your opinion on how people can be so deceived?

A friend of mine and I are debating 1 Cor 13:8 and the cessation of tongues. I have been reading several of your Q and A pages and find them helpful. Could you give us your interpretation of the cessation of tongues? Has tongues ceased? If so, how is it explained of those that are very devout still using tongues, even pastors.

My question is under what circumstances will a believer hear the words from our Lord, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant?” Is this a statement made to all believers or only some based on how well they lived the christian life? I am interested in you thoughts on this.

In your response to the question about Extending Life By Artificial Means you said “Keeping people alive by artificial means is not God’s idea…”. I can agree with your reasoning, but I don’t find any support for your view in the Bible. What about people who have, for example, diabetes or other life threatening diseases? Would you still say that these people should not use any medication?

I am an avid supporter of Israel and follow the news from the Middle East regularly. I am curious to know why the area of Judea and Samaria is so much in the news. They are even rudely described as “Settlers” which I believe is an insult knowing that the land belongs to the Jews. Why all the fuss?

I find it so difficult to understand that the Jewish religious groups could not tell when Jesus was born, and didn’t recognize His triumphant entry in to Jerusalem (even though Daniel told them To The Day when it would occur), and they had the prophecies that they had been studying and memorizing for hundreds of years. Then Jesus came back and was seen at least 11 times by over 500 people. So my question is, did God put a spiritual blindness on the Jewish people so they would not recognize the Messiah even when presented with irrefutable facts? If so, was this spiritual blindness so that the Church would have a chance too?

A few months ago, not far from my home, construction was finished on a new church building. It’s huge and very luxurious. The parking lot is equally huge with sculptured mini gardens throughout. My friends all believe in the rapture, but they all say there is no way to know when it will be. They all talk about seeing their children grow up and marry, and about retirement one day in Florida or the mountains. I’ve asked several of them about this attitude, and I am always told that we need to plan as if there was no rapture, since we don’t know if it will be tomorrow or even in our lifetime or that of our children or grandchildren. All this does is to put doubt in my mind as to the nearness of the rapture and if we’ll ever live to see it.
