Judged For Our Works?
Published: April 17, 2017 (Originally published: April 15, 2007)Could you please explain what this verse means?
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what He has done, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)
For The Joy Set Before Him
Published: April 10, 2017 (Originally published: March 14, 2013)When I hear the description of the actual physical beatings, pain, etc. of Jesus it upsets me so much I try not to listen and I am crying over it. Is this wrong of me, should I continue to listen?
The Resurrection Of Matt. 27
Published: April 7, 2017 (Originally published: October 25, 2008)Your Bible teaching has been a real blessing to me.
Perhaps you have answered this question already but I can’t find it in your website. Could you comment on the many bodies of the saints who were raised when Christ was raised from the dead? Was it only a select few or were all the saved OT saints raised? Did these people die again? What is the significance of this passage?
Rapture Timing And Daniel 7?
Published: April 6, 2017 (Originally published: April 30, 2007)First, I must thank you for your various works, especially your “The Bible thru the eyes of its writers”. It’s really helped me understand the books of Revelation and Job.
Here’s my question: recently, I read that God’s “throne room” scene referenced in Revelation 5 is depicted in Daniel 7: 7-11. I looked it up and saw that the “little horn” is mentioned in verse 8, but the throne room scene begins in verse 9. Does this mean that only after the Antichrist is revealed that the seal opening begins? Does this interfere with the timing of the rapture? Or are these verses not sequential? What do you think?
God’s Plan Or Husband’s Will?
Published: April 6, 2017 (Originally published: April 28, 2007)I recently had a “vision” from God. I have had these in the past and they are very profound and always accurate. I feel I know myself enough to know when it’s truly from God. In my vision, God told me I would give birth to another child, a girl. This is after not having any children for 3 years now. We had agreed that our last child would be our last, but then I had the vision. In my heart, I feel God wants us to have another child. I was not seeking it, nor necessarily wanting another. I believe (my husband’s) reasons for not wanting another one are based on worries about finances and the fact that we have “out-grown” our home. I tell him that these things don’t truly matter, that God will provide for all our needs.
My question is, what would you do in this situation or how do you think it should be handled? Should one ignore God’s plan in order to make their husband happy? Should I just “blow off” this vision and pretend it never occurred? Or do you believe God will work a miracle if He truly wants me to have another child and that I will conceive in some way or another?? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Chaos Or A Normal Life?
Published: April 5, 2017 (Originally published: March 8, 2013)My question is about the End Times judgments of Revelation. With all these things going on, will people try to live a normal life or will it be chaos?
Baptism And Communion
Published: March 31, 2017 (Originally published: March 19, 2013)Is there any relationship between Water Baptism and Holy Communion? Where I live certain Pastors warn born again people to refrain from partaking of Holy Communion unless they’ve also taken Water Baptism. As far as I know, there is no Scripture to support this doctrine, and many pastors know this too. Do you have any idea about this teaching?
Critical Misunderstandings
Published: March 30, 2017 (Originally published: March 24, 2013)I have been witnessing to a friend who is a lesbian. She feels that since she believes in Jesus she is saved, but I have a problem with that because Satan and demons believe but we know they aren’t saved. Every time Jesus healed someone we know they believed in Him because they had faith He would heal them, yet Jesus told them to go sin no more. Repentance is a big part of salvation and yet some people don’t believe you have to repent to go to heaven. They say John 3:16 says plainly that he that believes in him shall have eternal life. What about repenting?
Abraham And The New Jerusalem
Published: March 30, 2017 (Originally published: March 23, 2013)I have a question about the inhabitants who will live in New Jerusalem during the millennium and beyond. People say the church, Bride Of Christ, will be those who dwell there. I agree, but a question always tugs away at the back of my mind about the city Abraham was looking forward to as recorded in Hebrews 11:10. “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God”. There is only one city that I can recall in scripture whose builder and maker would be God, and that’s the New Jerusalem. So, if Church age believers are going to be the only occupants of New Jerusalem, what city is Hebrews 11:10 all about?
Saving Old Testament Saints
Published: March 30, 2017 (Originally published: March 19, 2013)What was the criteria for Old Covenant saints to go to Abraham’s bosom? Was it based on their behavior or on faith of the Messiah to come? For instance Lazarus and the rich man; it seems unlikely to me that Lazarus in his state was able to keep all the rituals of the law. However, the rich man very well could have ritually been following the law, but his heart was corrupt. When I look at David, he obviously had a revelation of God’s Grace that leaves me amazed as I am slowly grabbing hold of Grace. Were they only accountable to be obedient for what they understood?
How Can We Differ?
Published: March 29, 2017 (Originally published: March 24, 2013)Is it possible for believing Christians who have the Holy Spirit as our Seal, after being baptized and accepting Jesus as our Savior, to read the same portion of scripture and have different opinions about what it says?
Will We Still Be The Same Gender In Heaven?
Published: March 27, 2017 (Originally published: March 31, 2013)When we are in Heaven, will we still be the same gender as we were here on earth? I understand that there will be no need for procreation in Heaven, therefore, no sexual relations and no need for elimination of waste products, but will we still be man or woman? I assume that Jesus arose as a man and He said we would have bodies like His but what does that mean, will we ALL be men? My wife is already there and I wonder if she will still be a woman as she was here on earth?
India Outreach – Parvathi
Published: March 25, 2017 (Originally published: March 20, 2017)In October of last year, we met a woman who had just learned she had cancer. Parvathi had gone to the dentist with a swollen cheek, thinking it an abscess. It turned out to be a large malignant tumor.
She and her small children live in a hut made of tarps and bamboo and were able to eat only by begging. She certainly had no ability to pay for surgery plus cancer treatment. The hospital and doctor agreed to donate the facility and surgery, but they still needed the anesthesia and chemo and radiation treatment costs.
After prayer, we agreed the Lord wanted Gracethrufaith to cover it. This was all just one year after Jack had passed away—one week after learning he had cancer. I am so happy to help others with cancer—especially on the one year anniversary of losing Jack to the same disease. I’ve learned the best antidote to grief is giving. (It may be the antidote to everything.)
Parvathi was so amazed at the kindness, she asked why we would help her. And our volunteer told her about Jesus. Who He is, and how He loves her so much, He suffered and died so that she can be with Him. And now He asks His followers to show others His love. Parvathi replied she loves this Jesus who loves her, and she asked to know Him! Her entire family was saved! We are so blessed to be a part of what the Lord is doing!
Because of your generosity, we are also able to provide food for them each week. Now her kids don’t need to beg, and it helps us keep in contact with them.
Several months later, after the full course of treatment, the doctors contacted us and said her cancer was not responding to radiation, and it was spreading to her eye and throughout her body as well. Her health deteriorated quickly, and the doctors put her on hospice, saying her time is short and there’s nothing they can do. She’s too weak to undergo any more surgery or treatment. We’ve held prayer and fasting days over her continually since.
I’m heartbroken. But Parvathi isn’t. She said that this Jesus who saved her, whom she loves, will keep her in peace until she dies. That she is so grateful she got to meet Him before dying. She said she’s not scared, and that she knows He will take care of her children. When she explained her situation to her kids, it was with gratitude, not fear or anger. She knew their time apart would be short in light of eternity. She said Jesus suffered and died too, and what a privilege for her to know the same.
Oh, her sweet, sweet faith. I pray for a miracle! A miracle healing of her physical body. I also know that the greatest miracle has already happened. She was dead and is now alive. (Luke 15:32) And no matter what happens next, she wins! The enemy loses. She and her Savior will be together forever, and nothing can take her from His hands.
These stories are far too personal to share on the internet. We’ve never done so before. But Parvathi asked (and keeps on asking) me to post her story and thank everyone here who helped her have more time with her kids and to know Jesus. It’s personal, but also precious, and I’ve been having such a hard time writing it—to do her story justice with my words. I hope that you too are encouraged and touched by her child-like faith. Thank you for being a part of what the Lord is doing through this ministry. We couldn’t do it without you!
A dear friend, when she heard of Parvathi, said she is jealous for this young woman’s faith. Amen!
Now please join me in lifting up Parvathi, her children, and her family in prayer. That our God, Who is faithful, Who began a good work in her, will carry it on to completion. Amen and amen.
1st & 2nd Thessalonians
Published: March 21, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians introduced the doctrine of the Rapture of the Church for the first time on Earth. Right off the bat Paul promised the Church would escape all the end times judgments.
The Book of Colossians
Published: March 21, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)Paul’s letter to the Colossians is a rebuttal to the Gnostic Error, a first century heresy that was already evident in the church in 60 AD when the letter was written, and is still with us today.
The Book of Daniel
Published: March 21, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)Daniel’s story is like none other. Taken hostage to Babylon as a teenager, he rose to become chief adviser to two world leaders, Babylon’s King Nebuchadnezzar and Media-Persia’s King Darius.
The Book of Jude
Published: March 21, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)Having in mind to write to the Church about salvation, the Lord’s brother was prompted by the Holy Spirit to write this blistering criticism of false teachers instead. It’s as timely now as it was then.
The Book of Revelation
Published: March 21, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)The key verse, “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later” (Rev. 1:19) divides the book into its three sections.
The Letter to the Hebrews
Published: March 21, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)As we begin a study of the Letter to the Hebrews our goal is to make a very complex book of the Bible more understandable.
The Olivet Discourse
Published: March 21, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)The Olivet Discourse is sometimes called “The End Times According To Jesus”. In the Lord’s own words we’ll hear how the End Times unfold on Earth, from the Abomination of Desolation to the judgments following the 2nd Coming.
The Nephilim
Published: March 19, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)Did fallen angels once invade Earth? Some say these creatures took human wives and produced the unnatural offspring the Bible calls Nephilim, or fallen ones.
The Nephilim gave birth to many of our mythologies and may have taken over the pre-flood world. In fact they may have even been the primary reason God destroyed the Earth in Noah’s time.
This study explores the facts and traditions surrounding their time on Earth before and after the Great Flood and speculates on the possibility of their return at the End of the Age.
The Kingdom Parables
Published: March 19, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)These parables make up the Lord’s own view of phase one of the Kingdom, those who claim to be His followers on Earth. Some are true, some are false, some are Jew and some are Gentile, but all are sinners. Listen in as the Lord “tells it like it is” while describing us.
From Rags to Riches
Published: March 19, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)This is the greatest “rags-to-riches” story ever. From being disobedient gentiles, preoccupied with gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts, we’ve been adopted into the royal family of God, welcomed into His presence, and made joint heirs of His estate. How could it be?
Union & Fellowship
Published: March 19, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)A major obstacle to understanding Eternal Security lies in the fact that we don’t realize our relationship with the Lord exists on more than one level. One level is our Union with Him. It’s the eternal unconditional bond we have with the Lord that guarantees our salvation. It’s based on what we believe. Fellowship is another level. It pertains to our relationship with Him in the here and now that determines the flow of blessings we enjoy. It’s based on how we behave. Some passages of Scripture seem to contradict others because they’re addressing these different levels. In this study, we’ll make the difference clear and resolve these apparent contradictions.
The Letter to the Hebrews: Chapter 11
Published: March 19, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)Often called “the Hall of Faith” Hebrews 11 is a review of the Biblical heroes of the Old Testament. Their priorities were straight and their vision was clear and yet they died without receiving any of God’s promises. Only together with us would they be made perfect.
