Post-Rapture Sin?

Published: September 24, 2009 (Originally published: September 24, 2009)
Q

Thank you for your web-site. I have learned so much in the recent weeks that I have been made aware of what you have written and studied.

My question is – once we have been raptured and have come back with Jesus during the millennium, and then we are in eternity, what will keep us from falling away from the Lord as Lucifer did or as men will during the millennium when Satan gathers his army from people who knew no temptation or had any influence of unbelievers?

OSAS, Really? Follow Up

Published: August 19, 2021 (Originally published: August 6, 2012)
Q

After reading OSAS,Really? and many of your other responses concerning OSAS, I can’t help but wonder why some “Christians” still have a hard time understanding our eternal security. Its a simple concept and is backed by strong unrefuted verses. I have discussed this with some believers who don’t believe in OSAS and they never refute the verses that support OSAS outright but instead refer to other verses. Is it because they are really unbelievers who haven’t genuinely accepted Christ alluding to the possibility that they haven’t been born again, therefore spiritually dead, or is it simply a lack of understanding intellectually?

The Shrewd Manager

Published: July 16, 2024 (Originally published: July 3, 2007)
Q

In the parable of the Shrewd Manager in Luke 16, Jesus said in verse 8 “The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of light.”

Even though the manager was dishonest, he was still commended for his shrewdness.

Is this a gentle, but firm rebuke against Christians (followers, believers) because they are not wisely handling money or because of poor stewardship? Does he suggest that we could “learn” from the ways of the world when it comes to money? Is he suggesting that, we as Christians must be wiser and shrewd in our business dealings? What if we engage in a financial transaction with our family and things don’t work out, do we need to be shrewd with our own family members?

OSAS And 2 Peter 3:17

Published: August 14, 2024 (Originally published: August 5, 2014)
Q

I am doing a study on 2nd Peter and am having trouble answering a question. My question deals with 2 Peter 3:17, which is a warning from Peter. I understand the warning but my study question asks, “what does this show regarding once saved, always saved”. Can you help me understand?

OSAS And Rev. 22:19

Published: January 25, 2012 (Originally published: January 24, 2012)
Q

I understand that we are forgiven for our sins, but the OSAS doctrine that is so widely taught is frankly confusing when Christ Himself stated that He would blot our names from the Book of Life if we were to change the teaching of The Revelation (not verbatim). This statement from Christ tells me that He can blot our names from the Book of Life, so why should we believe the OSAS doctrine?

Still More On Taking The Mark

Published: March 24, 2014 (Originally published: March 24, 2014)
Q

I understand that once saved it is eternal. What if the people(s) who are saved and cannot be taken out of the hand of God take the mark? Also, I know that in Revelation Yeshua said that He will keep us from the hour of temptation. Can you explain these things, please?

Union & Fellowship

Published: March 19, 2017 (Originally published: March 16, 2017)

A major obstacle to understanding Eternal Security lies in the fact that we don’t realize our relationship with the Lord exists on more than one level. One level is our Union with Him. It’s the eternal unconditional bond we have with the Lord that guarantees our salvation. It’s based on what we believe. Fellowship is another level. It pertains to our relationship with Him in the here and now that determines the flow of blessings we enjoy. It’s based on how we behave. Some passages of Scripture seem to contradict others because they’re addressing these different levels. In this study, we’ll make the difference clear and resolve these apparent contradictions.

Losing Salvation in Revelation

Published: August 20, 2015 (Originally published: August 21, 2015)
Q

In Revelation 22:18-19 it says “I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

What does this passage mean if our salvation is supposed to be secure?

OSAS And The Two Phase Atonement

Published: February 27, 2010 (Originally published: February 26, 2010)
Q

I discovered a site that offers articles on Conditional Salvation and The Two-Phase Atonement. They claim “Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary was but the first half of the process, with the second phase still in the future. The sacrifice has been made, they say, and the blood has been shed, but the final atonement has not yet been made.

They also boast, regarding the article on Conditional Salvation, that “this article can give you many of the proofs you need to discuss this issue intelligently with others. The author, an attorney, proves beyond a reasonable doubt the falsity of the doctrine of unconditional eternal security.”

Troubled by 1 Cor. 5:5

Published: September 5, 2016 (Originally published: September 14, 2007)
Q

I am very puzzled and troubled by 1 Corinthians 5:5, which states:

“…deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”

To me, this seems to contradict eternal security because it seems to state that if this man does not repent, his spirit would not be saved. Paul sounds like he is saying that in order for this man to keep his salvation, he has to have his flesh destroyed and then repent. If this man’s spirit is already saved, then why does he have to be delivered to Satan and have his flesh destroyed in order to keep his salvation? I understand why he would need to have this done for fellowship purposes, but why for salvation purposes?

Is this how you read this verse? Have you done any research on this verse? I have looked all over the internet for a deeper understanding of this verse and cannot find it.
