No More Sea?

Published: July 17, 2007
Q

I appreciate your teachings and have learned a lot from your answers to various bible questions.

I just read your article “Thy Kingdom Come” and just wanted to clarify your thoughts on Revelations 21:1 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” Is it your position that this occurs at the beginning of the 1000 years?

I guess I always assumed that their would be a completely new earth and that the one we currently inhabit would be destroyed however that thought does not fit with your analysis as I read it in your article. I would appreciate your thoughts on Revelations 21:1 and what you see happening to this earth at Christ’s second coming. (Physically coming because I know he is coming for the church before the tribulation). Will the oceans disappear and yet the new earth will still have the Mediterranean and Dead Sea? Thank you for your thoughts and insights.

“Failed Prophecies” Follow Up

Published: July 16, 2007
Q

I have two questions for you. I just read your “Failed Prophecies” article. If the one about Egypt being uninhabited for 40 years is still yet to happen, does that mean the second coming is at least 40 years away? How does that square with the verses in Matthew, where many feel the second coming will be within a generation (i.e., 70 years) of Israel becoming a nation?

My other question concerns Ezekiel 38-39. If Israel will spend 7 years getting rid of all of the weapons, then doesn’t that mean that the Ezekiel war must occur on or before the rapture? If the war occurred after the rapture, then the second coming would happen before those 7 years expired.

Egypt isn’t specifically named in the Ezekiel war. I read somewhere that Israel currently has a peace treaty with them. Maybe this 40-year “uninhabitation” of Egypt will somehow be in effect when the Ezekiel war plays out and that’s why Egypt isn’t named in the prophecy. Syria isn’t specifically named either. Maybe after Israel and Syria go to war this summer, they will have a peace treaty too.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I always look forward to reading your articles.

Tribulation Survival Map

Published: July 16, 2007
Q

I’m concerned about the Tribulation Events – Survival Map where you tell those left behind after the rapture “they must pray to God saying” (and then you give them the prayer to say). I feel this is misleading because no where in the Bible are we told to repeat a prayer to be saved. We are told to believe (put total dependence) in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for our salvation (I Corinthians 15:1-4). One must understand what the gospel message means and believe it personally for them in order to be saved. Romans 10:9-10 makes it very clear that it is believe and believe alone.

I personally know people who have been misled in repeating a prayer and thinking they were saved because they repeated that prayer. We can get a lot of professions from repeating a prayer, but unless someone has been presented the gospel message and has believed it in their heart, they are still lost and on their way to an eternal hell. We must be so very careful and not mislead people into a false hope.

Why Is God Waiting So Long?

Published: July 16, 2007
Q

I have listened to most of your commentary and i am greatly intrigued by it. Understanding prophecy in the Bible has greatly strengthened my faith.

However I do have a question concerning Matthew 24:34 and of course the word generation in the verse. I am aware that it can be translated as generation or race and I also understand it is your view that the latter is the correct translation. Because of this you have taught, and correct me please if I am mistaken, that because of Psalms 90:10 and also because of the 1948 rebirth of Israel that we can add 70 years to 1948 to get 2018 and therfore the 2nd Coming of our Lord must happen before that date.(I also know that many consider the 1967 regathering of Jersusalem to be the date we should time the 2nd coming to and I am in agreement with this because of the 1st coming being timed to the rebuilding of the temple).

My question, and I know I shouldn’t question God’s timing but I just cannot help but wonder, is that why has our God waited so long? 2018 is just around the corner and 2037 is also near too. In your opinion, why has God waited until almost the end of the 70 years? I also wonder if either of those dates can be considered legitimate because of Israels constant feud and border disagreements with Palestine. Maybe Israel is still a skeleton and skin has yet to come upon it and make it completely whole. If so then we cannot consider Israel to have completely fulfilled the prophecy yet. I ask these questions with the utmost respect and gratitude for your ministry.

OSAS After The Rapture?

Published: July 14, 2007
Q

Having just read your interpretation of the ‘Parable of the Talents’, I have a question for you.

You explain that this parable refers to those who bury the word of God, and therefore lose appreciation for its value and consequently their insight. If they are followers of Christ does OSAS still apply?

The Pope’s Recent Announcement

Q

As always, I really enjoy your site and make it a daily stop. I wanted to get your thoughts on a CNN article (about the Pope’s recent announcement) and why the Pope believes the way he does?

I am looking forward to your thoughts on this.

How Many Wives?

Published: July 12, 2007
Q

First of all let me say THANK YOU so much for answering my e-mail question’s.

My question this time is did God give some kind of rule’s on number of wives?

When the Hebrews said they wanted a king God warned them of some of the things that could go wrong with a king, and one of them I think was don’t marry bunch of women.

I’m not sure if this is true or not I read so many different articles and stuff that I think I came across this some where but cannot remember where I also looked in the Old Testament but cannot find it. thank you again.

Unbelievers In The Millennium?

Published: July 11, 2007
Q

I was speaking with a friend recently about the Millennium. She asked why or how there could be unbelievers during the Millennial reign of Christ and the saints. Could you please explain, and cite any Scripture to support your explanation? Thank you so much.

Leaving It All Behind

Q

One of my daily highlights is to come to this site and learn what Jesus might have to teach me from your insight.

You’ve probably answered this before, but maybe it bears repeating in light of a question asked recently about post-rapture stewardship.

I am a single person, so my financial future, as long or short (I’m longing for the Rapture – now, Lord, please!) as it may be, is in mine (to a minuscule degree) and the Lord’s hands. I have a savings account and a 401K – I don’t want to leave them for people to pillage during the Tribulation, but I also don’t want to be a burden on society if the Lord tarries. My parents were sure that the Lord would come every soon (during the 1970’s) so they didn’t really save for their retirement. Thank God, my father’s retirement from his work career covers him (my mother died years ago). What is the correct balance between these two issues.

Peace Not Retaliation

Q

I recently discovered your site and enjoy it greatly. I believe the Lord is using it to help prepare people for what is to come and understand who He is better.

My question is this: in light of the support that Syria will certainly have from her allies there would surely be a very strong reaction to the total destruction of Damascus by Israel as foretold by Isaiah. What would this reaction (in the context of Biblical prophecy) likely be? It seems to me that there are still some things in the way of geo-political and economic events that still must occur before the war foretold by Ezekiel can come to pass. These things could be accelerated by a war with Syria but it would not seem to be that Ezekiel’s war would be an immediate response.
