Physical Or Spiritual, Or Both?

Published: May 20, 2014 (Originally published: May 20, 2014)
Q

I have always believed that ‘By his stripes we are healed’ was exactly that, if we have faith, and ask for healing and truely believe in that healing, we will be healed. However, a minister says this interpretation is incorrect and that in Isaiah 53-5 it is referring to spiritual healing, not physical healing. As I respect your teaching so much, would you please tell me what your interpretation is?

Why Are Believers Afraid Of The Rapture?

Published: May 20, 2014 (Originally published: May 20, 2014)
Q

As the pieces of the prophetic puzzle fall into place with alarming speed and intensity, family members who I’ve always believed to be mature Christians are becoming afraid of the Lord’s return fro us. I’ve asked why, and they can’t give me a clear answer. I don’t understand why professing Christians would fear this. The thought had occurred to me that they might not be secure in their faith, but they’ve been devout Christians since I was a child. What would you advise?

Thank you for your ministry it has been a blessing to me. I was just curious if you knew if there was any biblical reason why the pre-flood patriarchs never quite made to 1000 years as far as how long they lived?

How Could Nicodemus Have Known?

Published: May 21, 2014 (Originally published: May 21, 2014)
Q

In John 3:1-15, Jesus is speaking to Nicodemus about the need for a person to be “born again”. When Nicodemus ask Jesus, “How could these things be?” Jesus basically said, “You are a teacher in Israel and still you don’t know this?” Since The Mosaic / Levitical laws emphasize obedience to the 10 Commandments and their derivatives, what could Nicodemus have studied that would have helped him understand spiritual rebirth?

Was He Their Messiah Or Their Savior?

Published: May 21, 2014 (Originally published: May 21, 2014)
Q

Regarding the Jews that received Peter’s message and were baptized and subsequently the 3,000 that also came to Christ through Peter’s speech after Pentecost: Was Christ the Messiah to them, or was he their Savior, as he is to you and me? I’ve always thought that Grace came to those that believed that Christ died for our sins, and that we received Salvation through acceptance of this Gift. Was this not the mystery that came to Paul after Damascus and his three years of being tutored by Christ in Arabia ?

My Prayers Are Mostly Repeats

Published: January 21, 2015 (Originally published: May 13, 2014)
Q

I have a good prayer life, but I’m wondering if any one else might have the same problem I have. It seems a lot of my prayers are repeats: children saved, family saved, President saved, the Gospel preached, health of loved ones, etc., and other prayers I have. Do I really need to say these every night and every morning? Does God get tired of hearing the same requests over and over?

Messiah Forever!

Published: May 12, 2014 (Originally published: May 13, 2014)
Q

In the many Messianic prophecies in the OT, is it ever stated, definitively, that Messiah is a Divine Person; the Son; God Himself; or anything of that nature?

OT prophecy describes Messiah’s Kingdom as eternal, but is Messiah Himself ever described as immortal, eternal, etc.?

Dissapointed In My Son

Published: May 15, 2014 (Originally published: May 14, 2014)
Q

I am so disappointed in my son and the decisions he has made in his life. He has served time in prison, he has been on drugs, he has lied to me, stolen money from me, doesn’t want to work, and is now married with a 2yr old daughter. He stays in trouble with the law, is constantly in and out of court, and owes numerous fines. I have prayed, talked to him, tried to set up opportunities for him, turned him over to God, but it never changes. I don’t know if it is possible for me to give up on my son but I am so tired. Please give me some advice.

Not Peace But Division?

Published: May 15, 2014 (Originally published: May 14, 2014)
Q

I have questions on two verses in the Gospels. In both Matthew 10:34-36 and Luke 12:49-52, Jesus said he did not come to bring peace but division on earth. Using the NIV version, Jesus mentions that he would bring fire on the earth and wishes how it would be kindled (Luke 12: 49). He also says that families would be divided: daughter against mother, son against father, daughter in law against mother in law, etc. Why was Jesus saying that families would be divided? What did He mean when he said he would bring fire on the earth and wished it was already kindled?
